It's wild how times have changed. Now nobody wants to buy the 40 series cards. I can walk into my microcenter or best buy to get a 40 series card.

I got this monitor when it came out when I built my new gaming set up it’s a nice monitor my only complaint is mine is missing the hand screw to tighten it to the stand the hooks keep it in place but I’m still pretty skeptical on it

Is this very far from the AW3423DWF? Is the AW3423DWF $500 better? The AW3423DWF is $1k here while the gigabyte is half as much.

Amazing how now days you are encouraged to buy crap. I mean go ahead spend 400 dollars on something you know 100% something is going to be wrong with it LMFAOO. Even if 1 pixel is damaged you're still paying for damaged product.

So I too have one month+ with this monitor, let me tell you my story. First I bought this monitor because as a programmer I wanted more space to work and dual monitors were inefficient for that. But I also wanted to game on this, so oled wouldn't work. First unit I bought came with a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen, this was a deal breaker, and contacting the seller, they said they didn't have a replacement so I could only return it. So I decided to test it for one more week to test it, at first I hated the curvature, wideness and more resolution, but well you grow accustomed to it. So I decided that dead pixel was quite annoying so I returned the monitor, bad luck for me all electronics in my country suddenly rose in price, so I bought an alternative I had initially in mind: the Samsung Viewfinity s34a65. After opening the package, the quality of the materials were far inferior to the Gigabyte, the colors were washed out, the monitor configuration didn't help at all, and some other problems, returned it the same day. Went and bought a new Gigabyte even if it was a little pricier than before. Now colors look really good again, but don't use any of the present that come with the monitor, set one for yourself. It has a lot of configurations for colors and other settings (that for example that samsung didn't have). Luckily this new monitor didn't come with a dead pixel this time, actually it was flawless, no defect whatsoever. I tried some games and look really good, for old games you can still use 1920x1080 without problems and it looks "good". Aspect ratio can be set fine. I'm having trouble right now with the gsync compatibility, but I see that this is sadly normal, and there should be a solution if I keep tinkering with the monitor. The backlight bleeding is quite pronounced, just like in this video review, but as he said, not that noticeable from the front and on non black backgrounds. For working this monitor is quite good, the curvature is the right amount, and it's colors and brightness are quite confortable. Overall I'm quite satisfied with this monitor.

Dead pixels is not common and is not sometthing you should put up with. You should imeediately reutrn it if there is even one dead pixel. Maybe im super lucky but ive neever had a monitor with a dead pixel in my 20 years of buying them.

On the subject of reviews I think it's unfair to give a one star review because the delivery company may have damaged it in transit. On the other hand it is well packed and it may have been like that leaving the factory. It may be a "sort of" good thing including a speaker but it introduces an extra complication into the circuitry which could possibly fail.

Quick Note : flickering can't be Gone even you're HDR OFF OR ON. I have this monitor tried everything No luck. If you're a normally casual gamer i would recommend that monitor. But for competitive try for 16;9 monitor. 21:9 is too big for FPS Games. Cheers for more you ask me

I must say, even though I'm late to the party, given that the upload is about a year old, I found your review to be very informative. You covered a lot of important details. There was nothing gimmicky about your video. It was very straightforward easy to understand. There was no shouting, no over acting and overzealous intent. All those content creators who do the unboxing and video reviews of products, should really watch a video as a crash course on how it should be done.

I am looking into this case, and was just wonder what fan management would work the best, I am looking into a rtx 3070 with i7-12700kf and an air cooler on the cpu. I’m going to use the stock fans of the case and 2 140mm noctua fans
@BACustomPCs
@BACustomPCs Жыл бұрын
The top fan mounts should support your 140mm Noctuas if that's where you were planning to put them. The rear fan mount is only for a 120mm fan if I remember correctly. Good luck on your build!

I have a IPS monitor right no & 400$ does look pretty affordable but is the VA panel that bad for colors? (current TUF-VG249q)
@BACustomPCs
@BACustomPCs Жыл бұрын
You might be able to tell a difference after switching from an IPS panel, but in my opinion the colors look just fine, although nothing special. The biggest drawback of this monitor IMO would be the ghosting, but it's good enough for someone like me to play casual-competitive online games. Overall, it's just a solid price for a monitor of this resolution, but nothing fancy.

Thanks for a great review! It's easy to follow and get right to the point. Regarding the PBP, is it possible to change the screen size from 50/50 to 75/25?
@BACustomPCs
@BACustomPCs Жыл бұрын
It is possible, but PBP only has two options in the monitor settings, those being "full" and "Aspect." "Full" will stretch each input aspect ratio to fill both sides of the screen and "aspect" will use the aspect ratio of each input source. To achieve a 75/25 effect you would need to use the "aspect" setting and set one input resolution to 2580x1440 (for the 75% side) and the other input to 860x1440 (for the 25% side). This can be done by creating a custom resolution for each source in your GPU software, such as Nvidia control panel. Not as easy as some monitors, as they have presets for 75/25 PBP, but it can be done.

How do you turn it on like do I need a pc box to turn it on
@BACustomPCs
@BACustomPCs Жыл бұрын
As long as it's getting power from the wall, it will automatically turn on when it detects a video signal coming from another device. So a PC, game console, or similar device will prompt it to come on. It also automatically turns off when it doesn't detect a video signal. Works with both HDMI or DisplayPort cables
