Great video - I have the 4520Y and do not have any complaints. What kind of camera are you using for your videos? I would like to start videoing come of my jobs.

Goldenrod in bloom, that would be late August but more likely September. They're getting ready for bow season is my guess.

Seems like a small tractor with a bush hog would work a lot better, plus you would have a front lift also to push small limbs out of the way, also to lift other stuff with.

I just found your channel and I am impressed! I sooo love the Ventrac!! Yes, as to others, you didn't pick up everything, but then if the owner didn't want it, then it's the way it is. Always up to the owner, he pays so yeah... I wasn't sure when I started this series where you were going, and am still not sure, lol, thought you were making trails and now you are clearing whole fields lol. Anywho, wow a lot of work, both hand and machine!! Keep it up and I will keep watching :)

Everyone says the 4500Y is underpowered, but it handled this job just fine.

A ford 3000 and a 5’ bush hog would be a better choice of equipment, but then again the ventrac is tough!

First let me say thank you for including the whole video. I repair industrial compressors for my job and mow for relaxation and unwind time. I use a 1025r and a JD 455 and have experience running crawler tractors clearing land( D8K and D6C) so I am not a virgin when it comes to clearing hairy land. Out mowing is my unwind time. I hope to buy a ventrac before the close of 2024 and watching this one gives me reason to believe that the money spent will be well worth it for just the seat time.

i watch a LOT of Ventrac videos on you tube but i have to say, this video may have won the prize for the most dangerous condition yet to use a Ventrac to cut weeds. i cannot think of a single other type of machine that could have done this job as well and as safely as the Ventrac. this slope would be dangerous to cut walking with a week-eater string machine. nice job.

Straight-line driving doesn't seem to have been your strong suit in this clip. And unfortunately you often drive somewhere where there is nothing to be done. Oh yes, you could also drive a little faster, I often look at your clips with double playback speed, so as not to fall asleep...

If you want to double your work - clean out the rest of the Forrest and cut down all the woodland brush. It’s called parking it out. Looks great. Your trail then serves as a road to remove the detritus

How do you price those jobs out by the hour the ventrac is running or just an overall amount since the ventrac is so efficient? Ifper hour how much per hour 150.00-200? I am in the market for one of these once my stocks come back. Only two years into my mowing business but would rather be specialty jobs like this. Nice video as always
@trailsmadeeasy
@trailsmadeeasy 2 жыл бұрын
It’s completely and easy at the same time. Each state is different all the way down to the county level. My prices won’t translate to a bother state like Washington state. Once you figure out your coasts for running the machine. You can figure out your price per hour. I at this point know how long a job will take like this one for example. I think I can finish this job in two hours. So I quote $50 knowing that in order for me to make money I need to finish at or be for that two hour mark.

@@trailsmadeeasy you’re only charging 50.00 for 2 hours? I’ve been doing 50.00 a man hour and still not making enough 30% taxes 10% fuel and maintenance 10% insurance and fees and equipment ,so right off the top I’m only taking home maybe 25.00 an hour. If I charged 50.00 for a two hour job I wouldn’t be making any profit. If I bring the kubota I just charge by the job because I can get things done quicker so if I were to get a ventrac I would start out at an hourly rate but I was thinking more like 75.00-100 per hour with that until I could just charge by the job and get it done quicker. Thanks for the response love the ventrac videos!

A folding Corona razor saw can be very handy for trimming small branches that are swiping at your face. The curved blade of the Corona makes it superior to other brands.
