Red cut, sure sucks how much of this is closed off now
@SmokinTires.308Ай бұрын
Yeah when I went up there red cut was blocked off and they’ve talked about gating the lower part of bunker. But it’s a main road so I don’t think they actually will
@westcoastlogger06Ай бұрын
@SmokinTires.308yeah I've heard that too, lower ends owned by hancock not weyco and they're usually nicer with letting people in

Ant Hanson-Orr stock set up? For some reason it doesn't seem like my bike has the same torque
@Antsniper277 жыл бұрын
AirForcePower88 all I had done to it at that time was rejet and de smog. It takes a good amount of clutch split and pulling up on the bars.
@GritGrindGrow7 жыл бұрын
Ant Hanson-Orr that's basically all mine has done, if I'm being honest I think I just get scared to really pull on the bars
@Antsniper277 жыл бұрын
AirForcePower88 ya. I practiced hitting the rear break as soon as I got it up for many weeks. Just to train myself to do it by reflex if shit went crazy.

i'm picking up an 07 tomorrow first time on an on off road i'm excited about it only bummer is i have to ride the highway for 25 minutes. will the stock tires hold up for 99% black top riding?
@Antsniper278 жыл бұрын
+shawn mulhall yep they will hold. i have two sets of rims myself. i have a set with Dunlop d606 for off-road riding and the other set has the new avon trialriders for street and to work and back. both are dot.

where abouts did you go in for these trails? I did some riding last night and dealt with some some gates
@Antsniper279 жыл бұрын
James Mustico this part is all gravel now. alot of the trails have been logged in the past year or 2. are you looking for trial or gravel?
@jamesmustico9 жыл бұрын
I'm looking for fun, not- super tech trial exploration.. I'll be on an xr650l so I feel like tech quad trails are fun. Usually I'd be riding single track on a 250, but dual sport is fun.. I 've been looking at trails around gunner's lake that look fun. Any suggestions.. we've been skooching around some gates...
@Antsniper279 жыл бұрын
Not relly. I need to find more trails because they logged most mine and from what i hear pigs puzzle is getting closed off to. So i manly been riding gravel and searching for new stuff. I search thus fall and post up

I suck at wheelies. My first bike was an XR80. The last bike I tried on was an XR200 in the dirt. When I got my first street bike it was an old and crotchety Yamaha, I spent more time with the bike either stored or apart than I did riding. Never felt like trying to stand that old gal up with its touchy and somewhat unpredictable throttle. I just traded the old Yama in for a new '14 XR650L. This bike is a blast all around, somewhat tall but I feel right at home being back on an XR. I have 2 questions for you. The bike seems to be running too lean, popping on decel and just the general feel of the throttle. Most forums confirm that honda ships from the factory 'stupid lean'. My bike has less than 100 miles on it. Should I take the carb apart to richen the mix during break in or wait till after? Can I take the BRP on a 500 mile round trip to go camping this weekend, or will going from 50 miles to 500 miles odometer in one shot, mostly freeway 65-70mph be too much for break-in? Can I take that trip with stock carb settings or should I richen it first? My second question is about your throttle hand. You seem to be blipping the throttle an awful lot. I suck at wheelies, so maybe that's how you do it but could you explain what's going on in your video? What gear, what speed, any mods you have to gearing or anything, body position, and why all the throttle blipping? Every time I try a wheelie on a motorbike I end up preloading the front shocks, leaning WAYYY back and hammering the throttle, not WOT but maybe halfway or so. Sometimes the wheel only lifts a few inches, other times it starts to stand up and I get scared and let off the throttle. Point being my throttle hand is pretty steady before I chicken out. Is that amount of blipping helpful in learning to keep the bike stood up?
@Antsniper279 жыл бұрын
I would richen up right away. I bought mine used with only 1k miles on it bone stock. I put a jet kit , k@n filter and smog pump block off. I did not do the daves mod because i was afraid of drilling the slide but when i get a exhaust system ill do it. I allmost have no back fire now and starts and runs great. No power house like new bikes but will tractor anywhere. I went to a 50 rear sprocket. The wheelies are clutch ups in 3rd at about 35mph. The reason my throttle hand is going crazy is that i was still learning the balance point and i keep bouncing off it. Im alot smoother now and will try and get more videos this summer.
@mustardman463210 жыл бұрын
Nice work! I'm on a 99' with 14T-45T gearing... and I'm still struggling to 'get it up' for more than 2-3 seconds... what's your secret, yo?! haha
@Antsniper279 жыл бұрын
Clutch up and cover rear break. In the video i did in 3rd. I have goten better at finding the balance point so i dont throttle chap as much while riding the wheelie.
