Hello all I’m using bluecast resin v2 prestige Optima investment powder and I can’t seem to get a good cast. I’m using a vacuum chamber. I’m running the liquid Silver at 1050° and the crucible is running at 450° when I pour, but the cast come slightly surface cracked in some areas and a few very small holes or indent. Is there any way I can improve this?

When making wire do you have to work your way from the wide groove to the small one Or do you stay on the wide groove but keep tightening it until can’t tighten nomore ? Or just get it tight then work your way from wide to small grooves this part confuses me and no information on it at all

Do you reckon the vacuum portion is necessary?

It's a great hack but it only works on this type of rolling mill with a bar that transfers power from one side to the other. None of the rolling mills is have could do what yours does. Otherwise, a hand powered winch attached to a board or a 2" X 4" will do it, or simply stepping on the drawplate with both feet, bending down and holding the end of the wire with pliers and getting back up straight while pulling up with both hands.

How can you put the investment cast into the oven to dry it when the wax inside would melt? As far as I can see online, wax melts at 100F but you bake it at 220F. How does this work? Appreciate the help

I'm really glad to have found your channel. I have been contemplating making casting but the stuff is so expensive for me right now. I am going to look into what I have around the house to piece this together and what else I still need. I also just joined your FB group. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
