Astrid is talking about how they *nearly* killed them but the fates have another path for them. They all wear blindfolds and remove them only when the stars and nothing else shine their light (and after that lore drop from the Elder we can conclude that stars and startouch elves are basically gods in this universe). Also Kazi in the great bookery loosely mentioned the existence of "many Startouch prophecies" (well with the ability to "see" some parts of the future that's not so surprising). And the fact that some of them may become enlightened and timeblind means that faith definitely has a crucial role in this society. I find the celestial elves VERY fascinating. Not sure if I would want to join them, even though the Starscrapper is STUNNING😍, but this idea of like airbender monks sitting and meditating upon the secrets of the universe always fascinated me

a very reasonable deduction on Stella's lack of pearl teleportation, I also wonder if it might also be possible that she can only portal objects (and presumably creatures) smaller than herself, since I don't recall her storing/teleporting anything close to the size of the pearl, an object notably bigger than she is; so perhaps both perspectives played a part in this I am very thankful that this episode finally answered the perplexing mystery of why so many immensely powerful Archdragons and mages (human and elf alike) had to so carefully and sneakily orchestrate Aaravos's imprisonment instead of trying to outright kill him; it's because he cannot outright be killed, not the truly dangerous parts of him at least, merely delayed at best, so the only way to truly incapacitate him was to completely cut him off from the possibility of his physical body's destruction, ensuring he can never return to the heavens, and, tragically, until the mirror was stolen, it was working

It’s still obviously the wrong choice, but I can understand Viren’s thought process and that his overwhelming guilt might’ve clouded his better judgement in the moment. Claudia not only needs to realize that Aaravos is a manipulator, but she needs to realize that Viren was not a good person in the first three seasons and he is not someone who “only did what was necessary”.

16:00 "I have to tell you something"... XD This episode has a few parallels with Season 2 Episode 2. "I have to tell you something" is exactly what Claudia says to Callum when she almost kisses him. Right before that though, Claudia tells Callum: "We can just be here, without words". Notice that there was no dialogue between Terry and Claudia in this entire episode, they were literally there without words.

As much as I'm also eager to see Terry have more independence from Claudia and her goals, I also think what he presents is really interesting in the narrative. Terry is a good person - even though he's helping antagonists, even though he's okay with dark magic; neither of those things are inherently or necessarily Evil, and I also think we see interesting elements of how it can be a bad thing to be Too accepting. I think he provides a really nice contrast to Viren and Claudia and their ideas (or Viren's old ideas) of "I did what was necessary" with Terry actually doing what is necessary to achieve his goals (helping them) but never being unnecessarily cruel the way they've been. I also think he's an interesting holdover of Claudia doing to someone else what Viren did to her to a degree, in terms of "I just want to help XYZ person" + being very passive and wanting someone else to always Make the decisions and how that can lead to... not great stuff along the way
