Winchin' em out! A great August day of fishing!
@ThomasHardenFishing12 күн бұрын
This was in August.When you find good looking grass, you just flip for hours until you find them. I had been in this area multiple times before this day, so I had an idea of where I wanted to flip. This day the tide was going out.

Wow nice fishing! Was this recent? That is so daunting to sit there and look at all that grass and fish that slowly, I would be all in my head after just 15 minutes of no bites, how the hell do you pick where to go lol? Can you give us some insights, such as tide and water depth to look for?

That's the same way I dropped my baitcaster, the bait just didn't come out so all the force went downward and the force pulls it out of your hands. Im going to try this cause I've seen it everywhere so hopefully ill get it. I felt it with my friends magnet yesterday so I know its there.

What rod and reel?
@ThomasHardenFishing4 ай бұрын
It was a Lew's Custom Pro reel 7.5:1 gear ratio and a Kistler KLX 7' frog rod. I'm using a 7'3 Lew's Signature Series Frog rod now. A little longer, more leverage for the grass fishing.

I’m in central va but I deliver to northern neck most days. I’ve wanted to target snakeheads because I never caught one. Saw a large group of ones in the Wicomico River in a creek around this persons dock. They were easily 30+ with a larger school of juveniles or fry on the other side. I know they have made their way down south of the Potomac so I’m going to start there. What artificial lures and sizes do you use to target them specifically?

Please tell me that invasive fish didn't go back in the water
@oljimeagle4 ай бұрын
It’s passed invasive. Nearly all the fish in the region are non native but after over 20 years the bass fishery the affected regions are better than ever including the Lotomac and Anacostia waterways. The tested biomass levels from shock surveys are higher than ever recorded for the Largemouth bass populations post snakehead introduction… The REAL problem are the out of control blue cats introduced in the 70s. They eat anything.
@ThomasHardenFishing4 ай бұрын
It did not because they are very good to eat

That's awesome to see, I've always wondered how they would take a creature bait especially when the water gets up and they're back in the thicker stuff. Those bass were nice too! Was it too grassy for a chatter bait or was there some other particular reason you went with the swim jig?
