11by11 is most efficient, it can be used much better than this and can look much better if you cut it up. Secondly don't use wood. I honestly hate it

There is a 4 cell difference between 11x11 and 9x13 so the efficiency is similar. I just prefer the slimmer profile. Wood is fine, especially early game before you have the time/resources to make blocks and build stone walls.

Tried to play the mod but they require giving your information over to a closed beta, otherwise the mod on R2modman just crashes the game. What a joke of a developer. Shit like that kills the modding scene hardcore, it's only second to paywalling the content. If the modders want to keep the mod to beta testers, don't upload the damn mods in full to R2Modman and then just make them force crash on launch.

Dark Study doesn’t effect Anomaly incident rate, that comes from the incident rate settings in the difficulty options. Dark study away, my friend 👍🏻

@@TheWorldOfKilladrix A few more tips include: make a pillar with roofing over it. Passively it does nothing and will occasionally cause raiders to attack it, dropping the roof on their heads but actively with manually damaging it and placing a landmine next to it can down a pawn and with fire burn them alive while they struggle to get away. Bonus points for overhead mountains. Shells can be stored on shelves (or the ground) and when damaged can cause the same explosion as a landmine. Use a pawn to pick up one shell and take it to the desired staging area with draft and drop it, set it to forbidden and use this poor-mans mine in conjunction with explosive weapons or even with a legit landmine to cause devastating effects in compact areas saving you on components and steel. Weather is bad for shooting accuracy but is negated by a roof, really, it's as simple as a roof. Long halls with loads of wooden tables of good and masterwork quality are too tempting for raiders not to ignite, it would be a shame if someone snuck around said long hall and closed the doors behind them. Sometimes my best friend is my enemies stupidity. And as a last minute addition, a single wall made of wood is far more appealing to attack then steel or stone, a sacrificial home is far more cost effective then a full frontal assault.

Protip: Remove the slept in barracks moodlet by placing down more sleeping spots than there are beds, and turn them all into medical spots.. boom, barracks becomes a hospital.

when I played rimworld for the first time I choosen randy becouse that's what youtubers that I was watching before playing myself choosed too and I didn't had any threating raids for couple years and than one day this mf gave me 3 back to back raids. the first one was 9 megasloths second one was like 13 people droppoded insde my base and the third one was mechanoid group of 4 lancers and one termite. I survived but becouse I was so unprepered my base was almost completry destroied and I lost 3 of my 12 pawns :C

I feel like most things are the same, like there doesn't seem to be a difference between different kinds of leather, or the different wools dont seem to have any noticeable differences either. Should I just make devilstrand everything? Should I plant cotton ever? As it stands, I mostly use alpaca wool for armchairs and undershirts, devilstrand for dusters and pants, and various lesthers foe cowboy hats. I have no idea if im messing up real bad or whether its probably fine.

Nah, sounds good. Devilstrand clothing is best across the board bar hyperweave or thrumbofur, which are far harder to get.

Yeeeessss, having colonists automatically harvest stuff on the wild is nice with the "disabled planting growing zone" function. It may be quite ineficient to leave the growing zone active for too long though, as plants usually grow to full maturity at random time intervals, which may cause paws to go back and forth every time a plant matures. Definitelly better to create it for about a day, so the paws go and cut everything already grown up, then delete, or shrink the growing zone afterwards. Having pawns harvest many plants at once is much better than having them run back and forth micromanaging every plant when it matures.

I remember a long while ago (1.2 I think) I had a mod that added a bunch of drugs including cyanide. During a lemming playthrough where I had about 90 colonists (rip gamespeed) I set cyanide to be used if mood was under 20%. Well I went from ~90 colonists to about 10 in the span of an afternoon. Good times

That one is definitely going to be useful! Not just at the start to unforbid all your starting resources, but during Anomaly playthroughs so you can easily unforbid all corpses so they get hauled to the trees or the crematorium!

Ironically Thrumbofur beats hyperweave for protection also but one is a leather and another is the fabric so only certain clothes can be made from either
