I had no idea you had to pass an interview entirely in Japanese! That’s awesome, man! Congrats! 🇯🇵

1500$/month?
@JoshParksOfficial2 күн бұрын
Yes! It’s roughly that much with monthly costs. The JPY/USD rate has been changing a lot, so it’s not the most exact estimation

Paying fee's upfront before seeing the apartment is a rip off; and to pay two to three times the amount of apartment monthly rent (thumb down👇) seems as some kind of dirty scam to tie persons up in unreal housing advertisement/s or unfair housing to tie persons up in a not pleasant housing situation↗I mean really, it seems only fair of person/s to make an appointment to get a live walk through the apartment/housing to see if it's really what persons are advertising by 🎥 video or 📺 tv showing and or 📰 newspapers and or magazines and if is what persons are advertising persons; persons are better off to make appointment to see for themselves the built-in material and appliances in the housing and persons best to see the outside of housing, of street house on to see with the advertiser/s and or renter before putting money down on apartment seems fair and or fairest.

Thank you for your comment! I do agree that it’s better to view in person. The good thing is the agency did have a walk through video of the place. It was much easier for me as I was in the US before moving to Japan. Japan is a bit different with initial moving fees vs other parts of the world. The cost is also quite high, but mainly because it is in a central part of Tokyo.

Hi josh . Hope you are doing good. I found you tonight ! I think your place is a good looking apartment ! How do you heat your place in winter ? Gas ? Your video of your place was nice to see but i think if you did away with the music in background it would be better as i listen to what you are saying about your place !! Enjoy your week josh. !
@JoshParksOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mary Lou! Thanks for the insight on this. I will keep it in mind for my future videos. Regarding the heating, there is an AC unit in Japanese apartments that can cool during the summer and heat during the winter!

Loved the video! I will be packing up and moving to Japan in 2022. How much do you pay for internet and how fast is it?
@JoshParksOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I am using Docomo. You can usually purchase it through your phone provider and they will bundle everything together. For Wifi and my phone plan, I am paying ~$120 per month. Wifi is quite fast as well. I am able to work from home with no issues and also will play online with my play station with no issues. Best of luck on your move!

I live in london and this tokyo studio is not bad. Cant they put washer-dryer combo?
@JoshParksOfficial3 жыл бұрын
This is considered a 1K (1 room + kitchen and bathroom/shower). 1R would be equivalent to a plain studio apartment/dorm. It is quite spacious though for the size 😅 they do have some washer/dryer combos, but most people still hang their clothes to dry or shower rooms will have a hang dry option

the difference between small houses in Japan and Hong Kong, One is all about space and practicality the other is just inhuman.

I’ve never been to HK but I’ve watched some videos on the housing there and it does seem crazy how crammed it is 😕
