the boom detached from the mast on an upwind tack. Thanks God, we were not going downwind. the gybe would have been epic, to say the least. Tartan reacted promptly and efficiently. They send a specialized worker to fix the problem. Basically, they put g10 backing plates inside the mast for the boom and the various blocks. they also retrofitted all Fantail previously sold.

She is so much fun to sail. I add a fantastic summer 2022 winning the friendly Friday fun races of our club. Everybody wants to come sailing with me. love the composting toilet. being a small boat, I dont see the need for struggling with thru haul for a marine toilet with the tubing etc. No 1 full, I simply remove and dump in a toilet at the club. did not even have the need to empty no 2 (only at the end of my season). I like the little nav table. When i open my eyes in the v-bert, I see a table and not a toilet! I recently bought a top-down furler (pro furl) for my asymetric and can wait to try it. I want to go to the factory too at some point (since I couldn’t during the construction (covid-19). I use the nav desk to write or to use my computer. I sit on the side. I might end up buying one of those little « tabouret » that swing to be able to sit in front ( will post more on that). the compost toilet is a C-head (shorty version). most composting toilet are higher than ordinary one so for a tall person it might not be ideal. I am 5’2 so no problem for me.

they do have some weather helm; although they very responsive and slightly sensible. it took me a while to get use to the sensibility of the helm (I learn to sail on Shark 24). I regulate the weather helm using the traveler instead of the main to keep it confortable.

@@johnrbh 245 seems to small for my taste. ill post a video tomorrow. i was struggling with the stupid gopro :-) I love the boat. very fast and responsive.

@@ObsessiveScientist well, it’s essentially the same boat, it’s just that the 245 has the “Fantail “, part chopped off and it has an open transom. I like the open transom. But I didn’t like the wide open companionway. No security for the cabin.

I ordered a WE version for delivery this Spring in Door County, Wisconsin! I think it will be the first white hull they have made. It will have the Torqeedo pod… is that what you have?
