Amazing version, much better than the album one. The "she’s setting you up my friend, she’s gonna break your heart again" lines make a big difference. They fit perfectly in the moments they are used. It's always great to extend the showcasing of Nancy's vocals which were amazing as well.

Have some confusion here. Are you sure this was off the Commercial US 7" 45? Every label I see has this as 4:17 not 4:25. A UK Def Leppard site says the 4:17 does exist and is a different mix.
@asheard237 ай бұрын
The commercial US 7” 45 does indeed list 4:17 on the label, however when playing it, it actually times out at 4:25

Our local classic rock station here in Pittsburgh will play this version but it’s impossible to hear it almost anywhere else. Love the original but the mid section is so long that it takes away from the atmosphere of the song imo. So I love this edit. BTW…Full disclosure coming, we’ll all be rocking out to this song when it happens. 👽🛸

I had the cassette single of this and the added vocals were not on that version. But they did a massive remix, mostly of the drums and the vocals were softer than the album version. I know I heard this version but can't remember where - unless a friend of mine had the 45 and I heard it there.

Fabulous song. I've loved the lyrics and attitude conveyed since The Chicks first released this. Their live performance (only one or two videos here, sadly) fully backs up the defiance of the song.

Yet another minor '70s chart single that's never been on CD, and probably never will be. There's actually quite a few low charting 70s singles that's never been on CD that was on Big Tree Records. If someone would do a Big Tree Records box set, and do it right, a lot of holes could be filled.

@@kennethbesselman5739 ..... Unfortunately, no. Except for three or four exceptions, all the tracks on that excellent 25 volume CD series were all top-40 hits. This Kenny Karen single only reached #82 on the Hot-100 in 1973.

I actually have this record in my ever growing 45rpm singles collection. I also have a special edition 45rpm record that has this same song from the TV commercial on one side and this same song on the B-Side. It has Faygo written on the bottom of the label. I scored both of these the same day at a Salvation Army thrift store in my hometown.
