Is ALC blade a good idea for tacky rubber as it will give control as well as speed
@sakethkrishna6220Күн бұрын
It dependence on the efforts you will be putting into your stroke. Sometimes I go all out aggressive with my mxp in full swing with an innercarbon blade which goes off the table. Its totally your choice if at all you have energy and can keep full stroke through out the training then tacky rubbers will make a good pair . If at a casual player and can get tired faster tacky rubbers might lack power quality of the shot decline. The reason i have choose hard rubber is, it suites my play style and i can keep good amount speed and spin . I need great feeling and less amount energy into the stroke so that i can have some energy for rest of the day or can play extra time without break. Hybrid rubbers are another option like k3 but I dont know about them that much . But tacky Chinese rubber requires lot of strength and energy for playing continues and consistent stroke.

Im intermediate level. Training with coach 3-4 times in week. I’ve been plying for 3 years now. In the beginning I’ve been testing a lot of rubbers. But last year been using alc fzd and tenergy 05fx(fx bcs softer feeling, can hold the ball longer on the rubber) and my game got much better. But the stability factor was the key. Keeping same setup for a long time. My coach telling me don’t overcomplicate things for yourself. Keep it simple.

Let me elaborate more. There is a reason why tenergy 05, dignics 05, 09c are most commonly used. Becuase what they provide is balance. A game is not just about speed. You need to push, loop against backspin, flick, that's why people choose somewhere in the middle. You will regret if you are playing against a chopper that constantly giving you backspin . So you pick somewhere In the middle. The rest is about focusing on improving your skills, and stop blaming on your equipment.

He already addressed this question because it doesn't make any difference whether you're an offensive or defensive player. Panagiotis uses T05 hard and so did You Sae-Yuk. T05 hard isn't tacky at all. It will all lie on your technique. We're 25 years away from the old Tackiness C with very soft sponge used by many choppers.

in my opinion it is best to wash with water but every dozen or so washes use a good liquid dedicated to cleaning rubbers. When I used to use the liquid more often I had the impression that the rubber dries faster, so I confirm what you said that water is best, but water alone will not clean the greasy residue from sweat that collects there after a few weeks of playing. And when it comes to water, not all water is the same, my tap water is very hard and stains remain on the rubbers surface. It is best to use filtered water or maybe even better to have a bottle of distilled water.

micro fibre tissu around a sponge and i use a small bottle of window cleaner. i spray ONE time on one side of the sponge, i clean and i dry the surface with the other side that's dry. protection film and boom! the advantage of window cleaner is that it fights humidity. it really helps to keep the rubber dry even when humid. 😉 edit: my DHS rubbers last the whole season with me. i change only one time per year and i reglue the racket every month just to have fresh glue between rubbers and blade.

The thing that i learn, is that carbon blade cut off 50% - 60% of ball feed back and you can also lose feeling for spin, but when it comes for raw power and speed carbon are unmatched.. so if you focusing on control and havy spin like me. Just normal wood is fine, As long as you have good feedback and feeling when hiting the ball..😊

I think you should understand first of all your physical capabilities, which will open for you the next step determination your game strategy. Some people just not able to do fast moves with their hands, so faster blade will work better for them in some situations. Some peple can chop better than top spin, so then their game strategy should be oriented in choppers game and then they should use blade for choppers... Wooden blade has smaller sweet spot, than carbon blades, which is a disadvantage...

Came across your video and chose to buy Stiga Clipper with Vega Europe DF and Europe. Thanks for your content. Wanted to know your thoughts if you think I would able to go back to TB ALC later or will have to stay with Stiga set up?
@Hypex13375 күн бұрын
Having tried the TBALC with 09c I prefer the viscaria, which has a better feeling. But be careful the 09c is the extreme opposite of the vega europe you have to be active on all your shots. At the beginning I would advise you 2 fastarc G1 which are less hard than the 09c. An alternative that I really liked: FH G1 BH vega europe.
@kushbaveja5 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment! I don’t think your Boll ALC will be a waste, you can totally use it later on (and now if you really wanted - there’s no hard rule against it). As for the rubbers, keep in mind dignics 09c is very different to Vega Europe, so the progression/transition won’t be as straight forward as the blade.

Hi, i have been training for 3-4 years (Im 23 years old) After training for like a year with a Stiga Infinity VPS V (Which i used since i started training), i bought a FZD ALC, now paired with D09C on FH and Xiom J&H V47.5 on BH (Im a more FH orientated player) At first i loved the fzd (And i still do), but now that i understand more the game, i feel like my setup is quite fast for me, i think i have a pretty good footwork and physique, but my technique can still be better. So im thinking of going back to the Stiga blade with the same rubbers (I read on internet that the sport now is going towards slower blades with faster rubbers). Do you think it would be a good idea to do it? Also i can sell the fzd so it can also be good for my budget. Also i would say im an intermediate, almost advanced player

👍 Is the weight of the blade, and total weight of the racket important? Can you give some limits? I am amateur player
@jiboo68506 күн бұрын
yes, for amateurs, over 180g racquet is quite heavy on the wrist. BUT you can counter that by modding your blade with a hole at the bottom of the handle with a drill bit and use some lead tape for Golf. with that you can adjust the balance of the blade. because if the weight is more towards the handle, the blade will feel lighter even though it became even heavier in total weight due to the lead. it's a matter of balance. adjust until it feels right to you. or use lighter rubbers. but with the new ball, they're not so great. so... here you are! 😉
@blueheart98736 күн бұрын
Over 200g is the upper limit. It is not impossible to play but it is very exhausting. Most pro players prefer heavy bats which is 185-195 grams. As an amateur player anything between 150-180 grams is more than enough. Too light means less stability in your shots which makes you less consistent
@Kinetic14236 күн бұрын
I agree with the comments above. most carbon blades weigh between 80 to 90 grams with an average of 85 grams. I have played for 4 years and still prefer a lighter blade which doesn't make my wrist/arm fatigue as much. Hence why I'm using a balsa wood blade which is a type of wood that's super light. I use a Tibhar IV-L Balsa blade which weighs only 70grams, with aggressive rubbers like Nuzn 50 and Nittaku Fastarc G-1, making my total weight around 165grams. The Tibhar balsa blade gives incredible feedback and has a very comfy handle with good balance, I definitely recommend this for beginners to intermediate players :) For reference, I have played with blades like Harimoto ALC, Zhang Jike ALC etc with Butterfly Tenergy 05, DHS Hurricane, Rasanter R45 etc. I still prefer the Tibhar Balsa IV-L for my development and feel 😊 hope this helps!

Besides sponge hardness, topsheet firmness and pimple geometry also play a significant role in creating the overall feeling with the rubber, and these are not really communicated in rubber specifications. I think it is up to trying and experimenting to find one well suitable to a player's style. In ESN world, Nittaku Fastarc G-1 is a very precise rubber (firm topsheet, dense pips array - gives a harder overall feeling, sensitive to stroke timing) with a clear feel - on the other hand, Xiom Omega V Pro has a softer topsheet and a sparser pips array, and it makes the contact softer and mushier, adding to fault tolerance (worse feeling for thin strokes, but easier looping). Using rubbers with tacky surfaces usually let the player add a few more points to his/her upper limit for hardness, because of the extra grip. I have my limits around 50 degrees ESN scale for non-tacky and 39-40 degrees DHS scale for tacky rubbers.

Please tell something about difference in racket angle when playing with hard sponge vs soft sponge
@kushbaveja7 күн бұрын
While sponge hardness does play a role in what racket angle you should use in general, there are way too many other factors like top sheet grip, blade, sponge thickness and player technique to come to a simple conclusion. It really depends on a lot. However the vast majority of soft rubbers will have a higher throw angle than the hard rubbers. That is a generalisation, so make of that what you will. Cheers 👍
