Richard, out of curiosity, what mods have you done to increase horsepower? If it's a turbo or supercharger then yeah, 170mph is a real possibility.

Richard, the fastest these bikes go is about 145-150 actual mph. The speedo's read a bit high, but 170mph with more to go just doesn't add up. I have an 86 700 myself. These bikes are about 70hp shy of getting up to Hayabusa top speeds. Cheers. :)

i HAVE THAT SAME BIKE 1987 VFR 700 f2 INTERCEPTOR, i did some mods and holy cow that is a FAST bike i got 120 mph at the drags, that's fast for a 700 cc plus on i495 going south i hit 170 mph not even topped out i hit my exit :-) nice bike mine is all blacked out (all black funny yours is all white)

@ChazdaJazz the more i had the bike the more i did like the way it looked....but the tail section was the worst design....it broke on every bike
