Not saying guitar solos from Slash or those of Pink Floyd and many other aren’t giving me some goose bumps too, but the guitar solos of J. Mascis remind me those of J. Hendrix. Both having this little magic I can’t explain but can’t ignore at the same time. Guitar/Bass/Drums trios are the essence of rock music (in my fucked opinion!). A second guitar or any other good musician never hurts, for sure, but I think there is some kind of purity, of inevitable musical honesty and power in those trios.

They all three are very impressive. The bass playing is quite unique, and what the drummer produces from such a minimal drum set is stupefying.

Totally incredible that people are going to see this, 4-minute songs that repeat the same thing every 8 seconds, other instrumental ones that look more like a rehearsal than a song.
