Silly me, i thought they were going to sing "On the banks of the Wabash". I get it now, sounds great!

That's some BHS royalty, there. Tony has won 5 gold medals in quartets, Joe won 4, and Gary won 3 (singing three different parts).

Our family were personal friends with The Sidewinders, The Western Continentals, The Golden Staters, Command Performance, Boston Common...and lots of other amazing quartets...Acoustix seems a level above the rest. All their songs are brilliant!

My wonderfully talented Father is in this chorus on this day as a part of the Big Chicken Chorus he was so proud. The countless times I have listened to the practice tapes for this song and this competition. Daddy, you are here! The yellow telephone. Oh just wow, I now know what it meant and why I have it.

The voice at the beginning is Darryl Flinn. D passed away on October 18th, 2024. The Barbershop world lost a great human. RIP D, nice to hear your voice today.

Ah, the beauty of barbershop. This came through on my algorithm while I was writing an email. I wasn't even paying close attention to the song. And all of a sudden my arm hairs were standing on end.

I wasnt there for the first half of The Streak(TM), but this has to be VM at the absolute pinnacle of their powers. The sound, the style, and that swagger were out of this world.

Tony just broke the record for gold medal wins. This video is from 2000. Here he is 24 years later still doing it. And brought his son into the fold along side him. Truly an amazing talent.

Good performance, but I wonder if they know that the song (written by Nat King Cole) is about smoking marijuana? (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)

Like the original? I don’t think there’s an official recording of this parody version, but the original is “L-O-V-E” made famous by Nat King Cole
