I’m exactly the same way about watering, I mean I’ve killed a snake plant and pothos from underwatering 🙈🙊 Also try stratum! It’s so good for rehabbing plants and rooting them even if they are bare root. And about fertilizing, I fertilize all year round and plants continue to grow even in the winter. I love your African violet too! So beautiful!!!! 💕🪴

Switching from leca to soil can be tough on any plant. If you do, I would definitely go up a pot size and make sure there's enough amendments that there's good air flow to the roots. But leca roots are used to having access to moisture all the time, so you usually need to water more often when you switch them over to soil.

I feel holiday cactus tend to get root rot/dry rot very easily. I would definitely check out the roots and remove any sus ones. I water mine about once a month. It's planted in a terracotta pot. 😊🪴
@PlantedPothead14 күн бұрын
Hmmm I will definitely check for possible dry rot , I think if anything I under watered and it is in a plastic nursery pot with a few drainage holes that has been kept outdoors over spring/summer but the longest without watering would be MAYBE 3 weeks no longer . Thankyou for the advice ! 🤍

Hey I remember the first video! 😊 what’s your trick to keeping your peperomia hope alive? I manage to dry rot and then unalive each one I own and I absolutely love P. Hope 😔
@PlantedPothead14 күн бұрын
My watering routine is I check with my finger and I’ll put it at least a inch in and if it’s slightly damp I’ll skip a watering and I also check to see how heavy the nursery pot is , I never leave it in its cover pot with water ,I water on a rack thoroughly and then squeeze the remainder and then place it back in, that might be a lot but I only do that for a few plants so I don’t mind it. I also never wet the actual plant base just the soil itself I’ve noticed since the texture of the plant is different it tends to cause mold so I avoid that . I hope this can help you own one because i absolutely love mine 🥰

I have 4 kids. My oldest daughter is 28 and her and her husband live downstairs. They just had my first Grandbaby and i have been helping a lot. I have started getting up earlier to be able to do stuff because i have not been able to do much with my plants this summer but it has helped that my other kids have gone back to school. My oldest son that is 14 and my youngest son that is 7 are both autistic. My oldest is very high functioning but now that he is in his teens we have been having more problems. My youngest son has way more issues that we are dealing with. My youngest daughter that is 12 she feels ledt out because we foucus more on her brothers because we are dealing with a lot of stuff with them. So i feel so pulled in many directions. I try to spend anytime i have a moment with my plants. At first i was just buying any plant i saw in the beginning but now i have been getting wish plants when i can. Sorry for all of that i just feel so open with you. I love when you post.

First of all do not feel the need to apologize! I love that you feel open enough to share about life and kids and plants 💚 I struggle with my 2 kids, my animals and all my plants but that seems like nothing compared to everything your juggling, you are superwomen literally ! You sound like your an amazing mom & grandmom 🫶 they are so lucky to have someone who worries and juggles life for them 🤍 I definitely am warming up to waking up early these days because I don’t have any other time throughout the day haha Thankyou for your advice and watching my videos I appreciate you 💚

we only have 2 kids, and way less plants than you ( around 50 I think) but what I do is just getting up at 5 am, which gives me 2 hours before my son gets up at 7am. its the only alone time, and it feels like such an accomplishment when I get around to watering or re potting something in that time. I don't think getting up in the middle of the night counts as a tip, its just what I do :P

Your first plant the scindapsus needs more light hence the yellow leaves and empty spaces on the vines..You can cut those long vines that are almost empty and propagate them in water.When rooted add back in the pot for a more fuller look.
