You know when a scammer is got they start getting mad

Just demonstrates why verification should be two way. Banks should have a way to authenticate themselves to customers first, before they ask customers for authentication. Some banks have it, but most don't.

I had a text after getting back from town. I contacted my bank directly not on the given number. I remember going past someone who looked board on the way out of the shopping centre. He was scanning cards If you have contact less cards sheld them

Loved it. I had very similar, said he was phoning from my bank's fraud team and that there had been suspicious activity on my account, namely attempted purchases on Amazon for £300 and card used in Liverpool etc. He knew the last 4 digits of my card. He said the same, that he was going to cancel the activies etc. but as I am 80 years old and obviously not born yesterday and had seen similar scams elsewhere on line, I was already suspicious and when he started asking me to confirm my details I told him I wasn't happy to give out those details and I would phone the fraud squad myself just to be sure. Any genuine bank caller would have been quite happy about this but he tried to persuade me that I didn't need to do that and waffled on a bit but when he realised I wasn't playing ball he cut off. I did immediately phone the number on the back of my card just to be sure and they confirmed that there hadn't been any such transactions or suspicious activity and that it had been an attempted scam. It's so easy to panic in those situations but my advice would be for anyone contacted by a supposed bank fraud squad to just tell them that you would prefer to phone the bank yourself just to be sure. If they are genuine they would probably be happy that you were being so cautious.

Go back to the old ways Go to banks only with bank books . Buy from shops. The old way are better. Dodgy delivery people steal your parcels. Damaged goods in Parcels. Parcels being delivered to wrong Address. None Of this works . Bring back the shops . People could go out.People can talk To each other . friendly staff in shops . Lot more jobs.😅 We never had this in the 70s. Just shows new ways are bad ways. No wonder so many people are getting Outsimers Strokes, Panic attacks. they are so stressed codes & passwords they have to remember & worrying about being scammed. 😢 What is the world coming to Who's with me on this.😊

Firstly, you would NOT be talking to ANY MEMBER of a bank while they were doing ANYTING OTHER THAN BEING IN WORK. Immediately that would ring alarm bells with me when told "I was driving earlier, That means they were not in work and therefore undertaking up unsolicited work. I have NEVER received a reference number when I've cancelled a card. Banks make no enquiries with regard to your card details.
