Its not pressure in the Sinus its a lack of pressur in the Sinus, caused by the rising pressure of the water around you. The water around you presses on your eardrums with 1bar every 10m you dive and since there is no counterpressure in the Sinus it will hurt so we need to pressurize our sinus / equalize the pressure in our sinus to the pressure of the water.

Never look straight down, always look ahead When you look straight down the snorkel dips under water.

This video is amazing for beginners! It helped so much and I love how you give perfect examples of basically every possible situation that you could be stuck in! Hi! I’m curious about these methods if the lenses are polarized/mirrored. I have seen some that are not only mirrored on the outside, they have an inner coating to prevent glare also. Will toothpaste or fire be ok for that? I found an anti fog kit that has its own pre-treatment cream but someone said it scratched the hell out of their mirrored lens. Thanks!

Good video but turn down the music it was pretty disturbing. Probably drop it with like 20% then it would be fine. Good quality sound in the mic and the music it's just disturbing

Absolutely! The mask does not need to be brand new to treat it using this method. Just be sure it has tempered glass lenses and of course, be careful. 👍 Thanks for watching!

4:47 The toothpaste has not moved, and you did not even breathe properly on the mask. You did the toothpaste treatment once, and then used the antifog solution. It probably works, but why would you lie about how you did it?

When snorkeling, you will breathe in and out slowly and deeply with the top of the tube above water, holding your breath if the top goes underwater. When you surface, exhale forcefully to clear water from the tube and breathe gently to avoid inhaling any remaining water that may be still inside the snorkel. Once the snorkel is clear of water and the top is above the surface, you'll simply continue to breathe in and out through the snorkel. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

I got 3 Amazon junk masks they will not suction to your face without the strap. As a kid I snorkeled every summer and I had a u s. Diver jr. It worked perfect it would stick with no strap no problem. Just to go again It's too much for over and around 100$ masks. I like a big view not tunnel vision. What's a good one around half a hundred dollars?

I snorkeled Lake Huron today…just my second time doing it…it was a blast! One problem I had was there were pretty big roller waves and it would get water down the snorkel…any tips? I have a dry snorkel…how do you purge it without raising your head out of the water?

A dry snorkel should eliminate most water coming into your snorkel but won't necessarily keep all water out depending on the situation. With your head still in the water, you can purge your dry snorkel with a hard exhale. Water should either purge out the purge valve at the bottom of the snorkel or out the top of the snorkel. We talk a little about purging a snorkel in our most recent video which you can find at kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZmzqal9abR7kNU if you'd like. With some practice, purging will become no big deal. @@garydelcourt2791 We have heard there is some great snorkeling and scuba diving to be done in the Great Lakes but we have not experienced it ourselves. Perhaps someday we'll make it out there from Utah and check it out for ourselves. 👍

While it certainly is helpful to know how to swim, it isn't required to leisurely snorkel. You could use a snorkeling vest (probably best option), a life jacket or even a pool noodle to help you float while snorkeling if you are unable to swim. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

I like your videos! Tried snorkeling for the first time last week in the Dominican Republic and I felt like I couldn't breathe and the mask made me feel claustrophobic! I had to tap out while the rest of my friends and family had a great time. I haven't given up on it yet though! Looking forward to giving snorkeling another try next year!

We're glad you're not giving up! It can definitely take some time to get used to snorkeling. Try practicing with your gear at your nearest swimming pool before your next snorkeling trip. this happened to me when i went scuba diving in Cancun for the first time! i’m not used to mouth breathing and i felt suffocated and panicked and tried to tap out. the tour guide wouldn’t let me leave so i ended up going down there and after getting the flow of breathing right it was really fun! you can do it 👏🏼
