I saw one video where the guy used a black light to find the opals
@diggertheamateurprospector6611 Жыл бұрын
Black light makes the Opal glow in the darkness. But these Opal paydirt bags from Team Young Guns are just a cool novelty. So, you don't need much equipment to find them, as the hard work is already done. Still, interesting how a black light makes it glow. A Ruby does the same glow too... but glows red
@Kerrsartisticgifts Жыл бұрын
@@diggertheamateurprospector6611 , I first saw a black light torch in a video by a rockhounder near me. He was using it on the beach of lake Huron at night and some sort of pebbles he was searching for were glowing when the beam hit them. I thought I should have a go too but those lights are about $160 + I looked at some videos on the torches and they are used to show up scorpions in the dark too. Imagine that? Scorpions glow in the u.v. light as well.
@diggertheamateurprospector6611 Жыл бұрын
@@Kerrsartisticgifts you can get really cheap black lights on ebay. Just so happens, I have a taxidermy scorpion in resin and I can confirm, they glow bright in the dark when hit with a black light. Also, Uranium glass glows too, but in a more ominous way. Ruby or the cheaper ruby zoisite looks awesome too.
