Good morning from Greece, very nice video. I would like to ask about the outboard motor that you have, I have one YAMAHA 2 STROCKE 115 V4 and I don't know how many amperes it puts out and I want to compare it with yours, thank you
@AJOutdoors1Күн бұрын
Hello, thank you for watching the video. My motor is a Mercury 115 2 stroke and max amp output is 65. But understand the motor uses about 20 of that.

I have an old 65mph bass boat. You can buy a new fish finder relatively cheap if you wait for NEW models to come out, then buy yesterdays models NEW with a warranty. I bought couple new $1000 9-inch Lowrance fish finders with 3-in-1 transducers for $598 each with 2-year warranties. I saw a new $2000 12-inch Lowrance fish finder with 3n1 transducer for about $550, but I already purchased the 9-inch models. If you own a boat and can't afford a fish finder, good luck.
@AJOutdoors14 күн бұрын
Fish finder vs. Navigation.. this is not used as a fishfinder, only Navigation. I have a simrad i use as my "Fish finder." This is a cheap (much less than the finder prices you quoted) way to get a second graph.

Great video John, I just bought this system for my pontoon and will install shortly. I have a question and sorry if it’s been asked & answered already, but how did you ground the negative buss bar? Is it grounded via the negative cable from the motor? Thanks

I would think by the time you pay the monthly cellular service for the iPad you’ll be at or more than a Garmin or hummingbird of the same size which has depths and fishfinder.
@AJOutdoors125 күн бұрын
You don't have to have the service. You just need one that is cellular capable, that gives you the internal gps antenna.

After you break the bleeder screws and start turning the steering wheel, does the motor still turn? I’ve done this process a few times and the motor does not lock-to-lock. Wheel stays turning freely.
@AJOutdoors1Ай бұрын
Yes motor should move. With air in lines you and bleeders open, you can go beyond lock. The key is the air being removed.

You don't need cell service to use an iPad or other tablet type device. Whatever device you do use does need to have GPS. I use an iPad and a Samsung tablet. The tablet only has GPS. It cost me $126 at Best Buy. It doesn't need a data plan just GPS. I use my iPad for my wireless Faruno radar and the Samsung tablet for Navionics.
@AJOutdoors12 ай бұрын
Yup, correct. And, nice setup.
@matthewkahrs81642 ай бұрын
Couldn't you just use a 4-way battery switch and not need the blue sea or fuses.
@AJOutdoors12 ай бұрын
Yes you could, but the motor will not be charging both batteries, only the one selected. Let say you have it on battery one, go out fishing, maybe anchor up, have radio on, graph, possibly lights. Time to leave and the battery is too drained to start the motor. At the least you have to go back and manually change the switch, and at worst you find that the second battery is dead because it has not been getting any charge. Once installed, this system is basically plug and play, if for some reason the start battery is low, it will automatically use the house battery.
@matthewkahrs81642 ай бұрын
@AJOutdoors1 ok, I ask because I was under the impression that with the motor on and the switch on 1&2, it will charge both batteries. Then, when the motor is off, put the switch on the house battery only. Then, even starting battery, can't die. Also, in the worst case, both are dead or very weak. You can put switch on 1&2 in hopes both batteries together will start engine. On a side note, do you have a video or know how to find schematics to wire two engines with two starting batteries and a house battery?
@AJOutdoors12 ай бұрын
@@matthewkahrs8164 So this was on my previous boat with 1 motor. But now I have a 28ft Grady White with twin 225s. It uses three batteries, one only starts the port side engine, the other two are wired in parallel and start the starboard motor and power the house (everything else). This setup uses 2 battery switches (one for each set) but you can still put them both in 1&2 if power is too low in one side. So, what exactly would you like to see? I can get you pictures.
@matthewkahrs81642 ай бұрын
@AJOutdoors1 What you have, twin 200s, two 4 position switches, three batteries total. Wire it so each engine is charging their own start battery but also both engines are charging the same large house battery.

This is bad information. A glass full of ice and water gets down to about 40 degrees. If you freeze the prob in the ice and come back to it the next day, that will be 32 degrees. Traeger needs to get their numbers right.
@AJOutdoors13 ай бұрын
The food safety industry has used this method to calibrate thermometers for decades. It is the proper method and does get to 32 degrees +-2.

The ground with fuse should connect to the negative bus bar that both batteries ground to.

I have about 10 pairs of these glasses, different styles I liked. I did not know they have different sizes. When I found out, I reached out, just on a whim to see about exchanging my standard sizes for smaller ones. 138mm front bridge compared to 145mm. Longer temple length also. I sent 3 standard size back and got the small. Absolutely fantastic customer service. No questions. I will support them over anyone else. Simply the best.
