Just incredible. Another world. Thanks for sharing and glad to see a nudibranch in the mix.

Nudibranch? What nudibranch? You know, Danno, it's not too late to take up diving. You & Lynn could join us on an upcoming trip. Philippines in late March, maybe?

Incredible. 🎉 I envy your patience to travel that far and that long to pursue your passion. Wasn't the Nudi guy featured in your last dive video?

Hey, Danno! Thanks for viewing. The nudi might have been in a previous one, not sure which nudi you were referring to. But this video was meant to really focus on the resort, so less of the underwater stuff. I'm doing another one that will be dive related and will feature lots of other critters.

Thanks -- we were lucky to spot it, camouflaged just off the road.

Thank you Steven for your video. We've been looking at both places and your video is very helpful. Here's a link to one of our recent dive trips in Thailand. Please let me know what equipment you use, thank you! kzbin.info/www/bejne/lX-WcqCIrdGmpNU

Hi, Joan, My apologies for not answering you before now. I've had a problem with my system and haven't been able to see comments until today. Anyway... your video was wonderful! The number and diversity of the fish was incredible. We've seen only a few places that have that kind of density. As for equipment, I have a Panasonic Lumix 10 (point & shoot) with a Nauticam housing. I use a couple of Sola video lights on adjustable arms. Recently, I've been tempted to upgrade the lights to a combination flash/video, but at $900 each, they're well beyond my budget. Again, so sorry not to have answered you. I hope you've been diving since you first reached out. We were in Alor, Indonesia a couple of months ago and then in late March will be repeating the Amun Ini and Atmosphere trip, hopefully this time without the typhoon costing us a week.

Great video! My wife and I are heading to the Philippines for 2 weeks in October and these same two resorts are at the top of our list. Did you prefer one resort over the other? And did you prefer the diving at one over the other? We're trying to decide how many days to spend at each resort and which one to stay at first/second (we prefer to end our trips at the "nicer" hotel). Thanks!

Thanks for your compliment. We had a lot of fun on the trip and also making the video. Answering your questions will take a little explaining, unfortunately. First, both resorts were wonderful. It was our first trip to Amun Ini and second to Atmosphere. Unfortunately, the circumstances didn't allow each resort to showcase itself equally. When we arrived, we went to Amun Ini first. As the video shows, there was a typhoon rotating (and sitting almost still) northeast of The Philippines. While that didn't supply extensive rain or storms, it did cause VERY high surf throughout the eastern part of the country. The Coast Guard didn't allow any boats to be on the water for something like 4 days of our visit. That means we only had the opportunity for two dives on each of two days, and the conditions were sketchy even on those days. In other words, we didn't get to experience the true dive quality at Amun Ini. (I did get the photo of the pygmy seahorse on one of the dives, but that was the only highlight.) The weather meant that we spent a LOT of time at the pool or in the restaurant lounge chairs and caught up on reading that we didn't even know we were going to do. Disappointing for the diving, but otherwise excellent. Amun Ini staff were outstanding, the food was excellent, our room was wonderful. The only problem was the diving -- and that clearly wasn't the resort's fault or shortcoming. Stupid typhoon... But to the resort's credit, the owner gave us credit for another week of diving to make up for the weather. We just have to return within a few years, I forget now how long the grace period is. But how many places do that for something that wasn't their responsibility? Atmosphere is one of the finest resorts we've ever experienced. Anywhere. Staff is the best, the food is unbelievably good, the rooms are outstanding, and whatever element you might ask about would get an enthusiastic review from us. We were there originally in 2019 and had intended to return in 2020, but, well, you know about 2020. So this was our reunion tour of the resort. Some of the staff remembered us from the first visit -- by name. And they used pandemic time to upgrade what already was extraordinary. The diving is diverse and varied. You can dive muck, sand, coral sites all on the same day, none more than 20 minutes from the resort. There is a special trip out to Apo Island for an added charge. We did that the first time but didn't feel any need to go again because the sites right along the shore are excellent. Probably the most explicit thing I can tell you is that . (Well, hopefully without the typhoon...) And we'll start again at Amun Ini and finish at Atmosphere. Like you, we like to finish at the place that's hardest to leave -- that is Atmosphere, although Amun Ini definitely is in our Top 10 list. I hope this answers your questions. Please write back if you have other questions -- I am very happy to recommend both resorts, and especially to recommend the two-week adventure you are planning. You absolutely won't regret this trip and will love both places.

Glad you enjoyed it. It's one of the rare tours I've done that I would do again anytime. As a player yourself, you'd love it.

Truly Remarkable!! It is incomprehensible that you encountered and captured footage of all those magnificent creatures in one trip. Wow, wow wow!!!
