Don't let the book size discourage you for The Nightingale. It is awesome! You won't be able to put it down. I didn't start to cry until towards the end. I think you will also enjoy The Great Alone, and The Four winds by Kristin Hannah. I listened to The Great Alone on audio, and I had to pause several times because it had me in tears.

The nightingale literally made me ugly cry at a resort pool in Mexico LMAO

I have had the Nightingale on my TBR cart for YEARS; I will get to it eventually. Misery is great, and classic Stephen King...you will love it! Love your Fall Recs! I completely agree with everything you are saying about these books. My favorite was the 3rd one too. The second one was so unnecessary and didnt fit very well with the entire overall story. The first half of the second one was so boring to me.
