LYRICS: Well, the couple in the corner have been going at it all night long The man in the back is putting bets out over the phone And I ain't got nowhere to be Ain't nobody waiting at home for me And there's nothing lonelier than Midnight at the movies, again There's a girl named Martha Who meets me here on Saturday night She never says too much She just sits down beside me and puts her hand in mine She's got a gentle way That keeps me from feeling so alone She always shows up late And leaves before the credits roll And I never watch her leave I just close my eyes and pretend I'm asleep Until the second feature begins Midnight at the movies, again So it's half-price, double feature Two and quarter after seven o' clock And there's no smoking, no drinking Get your candies and your red-hots Said, get your candies and your red-hots So, shut out the lights And tell those fools down front to take a seat If you see my Martha Tell her I'm in the corner, and just wake me if I'm asleep

It's really shitty that our heros were so very talented with gifts that we cannot fathom yet they were not even given the most basic tools of self preservation and the tools on how to maintain and navigate successfully through this fucked up world. Sad doesn't accurately convey the complete emotion of this loss.

Had he lived i think his name would have been listed among the other legends of songwriting like Dylan and Clark and Van Zandt and Prine.

I saw you twice. The first time was in Detroit and Tift Merrit opened for you. The second and sadly the last time was at The Ark in Ann Arbor. Both of those shows were so different but equally beautiful. Justin, you taught me a lot about life through your music. I will never be able to thank you enough.

This is so beautiful it made me cry. It shows the pure love Justin has for both JME & their beautiful daughter. I remember Justin saying after Etta was born in an interview that he will write a song for her later when she was a little older. I he did x

Incredible. Such a loss. And Justin doesn’t get enough credit for his phenomenal guitar work and sound. It’s one of a kind, very technical, he makes it look easy. But it’s Very Difficult to Copy his sound and technique by even the most proficient guitar players. God Bless JTE.
