Being as this was done in the mid 1980s (album: Woodstock 1985) and even though this would NOT be my proudest piece of work, my gratitude to Maria (Marc Mylar's girlfriend) for posting it. Also considering the album from which this comes uses many crafty pseudonyms, Let's get the credits straight: Owen Green: Rhythm Guitar, Bass, Vocal, Composer (I wrote this tune). Brian O'Laughlin (RIP): Drums Kevin Halloran: Lead Guitar Brick & Fyl: Background Vocal While Marc Mylar did actually play on other selections from this album and was highly involved in the production aspects of this tune, he is not playing a note here. Thanks again.

Damn! Thought I was the last man breathing who remembered Jon Lee or the Blackstone Rangers. First heard Finley with Prakash John playing bass. Legend has it George Clinton passed through that Blackstone band. Finley's a machine -that voice is still a marvel.

Like fine wine John Finley continues to get better with age from his early days with The Checkmates, Rhinoceros, Blackstone and then Soulbop to his solo career, one thing is certain, John Finley is a vocalist that cannot be denied. As a fellow Canadian I am proud of his accomplishments as well as continuing to marvel at the beauty of his current recordings, and this song is proof of his ablility as a vocalist and supreme communicator. This kind of talent is a true gift and honed to perfection.

He was the soul of Jon Lee and The Checkmates, he was the soul of Rhinoceros and Blackstone and now that soul just keeps pouring out from one of Canada's true RnB legends the great John Finley.
