Very nice! Amazing colors. How did you grade this footage? Any custom LUTs? Did DJI send you a conversion LUT?

@@derkvanderheiden thx! Grading was done in FCPX with the standard tools. Shot and graded in HLG / Rec. 2020, no LUT needed :)

@@derkvanderheiden I have been using HLG more often than DLOG-M in the last couple of months, it's just so much easier to get a (very) good result and being able to share HDR videos without having to convert it (from 10 bit SDR like DLOG) is the icing on the cake.

Thanks! range was not an issue at all...check out the various methods to use the Avata 2 in FCC mode, that should solve any range related problems :)

hi, I put this question for you on DJI forum as well. great video. A couple of questions please. Are you filming in 8 or 10 bit HLG ? When you import into FCP, which encoder are you using. ? I am having a lot of problems with videos sent to youtube. The results are very muted and do not look HDR, ie bright and vibrant, though they look great as source and in FCP

@@esrider7765 There's no 8 bit HLG :) I'm using the Rec2020 HLG colorspace for the project. Make sure to also export in h265 and rec2020 HLG, otherwise KZbin won't recognize it's dealing with an HDR video.

@@baekinflight thanks! No this was shot with 'standard' rocksteady to get a wider field of view. I was using a GoPro chestmount with a backpack and used the shoulder straps to really tighten down the straps of the chesty, that helped a lot with reducing the camera movement.

I wanted to ask for clarification regarding the new Color Conform feature in Final Cut Pro: should I map SDR clips to 100% or 75% HLG, considering that I’m working exclusively with 10-bit clips and not mixing SDR and HDR content? What would you recommend? Btw your blog is amazing!

Did you own the mini pro 3 as well? Do you think ActiveTrack improved? Couldn't use it for motorcycle trips on the pro 3, thinking about an upgrade after seeing a few videos.

I had the Mini 3 Pro before the 4. To be honest I've never used active track on the 3, so I can't comment on this matter. But given the additional obstacle avoidance sensors I'd say that active track is definitely more useable on the 4.

Sure! Pitch / Roll / Yaw Center Sensitivity: 180 / 180 / 60 Max Rate: 450 / 450 / 320 Expo: 0.5 / 0.5 / 0.5 Gimbal angle between 25 & 35 degrees. Can't recall the speed I was flying at, sorry!

Hallo Alex! Ich habe die Fernsteuerung mit integriertem Display und verwende ein Cover, das die montierten Steuerknüppel mit abdeckt. Das ganze transportiere ich dann im Rucksack, wobei es sich nicht vermeiden lässt, dass hin und wieder trotzdem irgendwo etwas aneckt und eine Taste gedrückt wird...

Yes it can stay on the backpack, but the controls and the screen can't be locked, so it's nearly impossible to stow it away without accidentally pressing any buttons.

With my old DJI Spark it's pretty easy since you can fly with just the iphone (but obviously the video quality isn't good). Have you tried using a handlebar mount that works for mountain biking?
