Usually you can just run the cables through an AV receiver and that will unscramble it. Some videos even in the 80s (like my original Christmas Story VHS 1986) have it blocked were you can't copy it anyway at all. @@ShawnStafford-1978

@@ShawnStafford-1978 Buried in my living room, under a ton of dolls, I have a DVDrw burner that is called a Mosaic and it can convert any pre-blu Ray video/music file and burn it to 4gb dvdr discs, or regular CDr discs that will play on any mp3 or DVD player. I think that might be similar to what you are thinking of.

@retoyer Probably similar but different maybe? I just used my CD DVD burner on my Windows XP computer. Would usually only burn the movie without the extra features of the movie's. Sometimes I could burn stuff as a data DVD to play on player's that could play data or mp3 file's

Yep, odd feeling going to rental store's for game's and movie's to play or watch. The late fee's were awful if too late for returning.
