THX for these tips, been working with Illustrator for many years but still learning. Few remarks. First of all and this is really funny..but the way you say "Layers" is more like "Liars" Secondly on Mac OS it's the "command" key not the "control" key that switches the layers between outline and preview mode.

Great tutorial! I’m having trouble converting it to a shape. While it technically allows me to do so, I get the message: '3 of 3 objects not converted.' Additionally, when I try to rescale it to make it smaller, the shape gets distorted. How can I adjust it to fit a much smaller image without losing its form? Thanks!
