True it seems to me RTD and MTA would sometimes use older equipment and not really maintain buses way I think they should. Well Least the RTD and MTA era 1980-2000. I recall a few RTS breakdown on the RTD route

MTA has left Pomona CA

Nothing replaces a subway, something to add is that in CDMX in addition to the Metrobus there is the Trolebus, which is this electric bus powered by a catenary of two upper cables, it has 9 lines and some of them with an exclusive elevated road, also a system called RTP with night routes 103 lines and more than 1,300 buses, plus other systems that are not buses such as the cablebus and the light rail, plus traditional transportation systems such as the pecero and even so, the best is the subway.
