She used to do the Cook Strait in New Zealand, named at the time she was Top Cat, however because of shore line erosion and speed restrictions couldn't make a buck and left. Nice to see she is still "sailing".

This vessel used to traverse the Cook Strait in New Zealand under the name of Top Cat. She could handle the big seas out in the ocean, but unfortunately she created too much of a shoreline wash in Wellington Harbour and in the Marlborough Sounds when operated at the high speed needed by the operator. Speed restrictions in these areas to avoid shoreline damage caused her demise in the end. Lovely to watch her come and go. I never got to travel on her, but my son did and it was a wow ride in his opinion.

I have survived many horrendous crossings, there is no way I would of set foot on her in that sea state. No chance, you would have to be insane to even think about it.

Very good quality video footage ! I have travelled twice on the Manannan from Liverpool to Douglas: IOM is a special place, I would have gone there again this year, but for Covid 19:
