I heard this a couple of years ago, and simply loved it... ..the fact that you reinterpreted it and did not do a note-to-note cover, or attempt at impersonating Dylan! That made it so refreshing! But, then I did not leave my comment... Today, a conversation about something started a thought, which led me back here......Blue Slide Joe, you're amazing..... singing, whispering, to the backing of a slide guitar! Regards, from somewhere in India!

My dear old friend: first of all glad to hear from you! What you dont know, I´m thinking just often of you. How are you doing? Hope you still make a lot of music - and how is your son - is he still performing? Now- thanks for all these nice comments on our music. I´ll tell the boys! As you know I`m struggling now for 5 years with my trumpet embouchure - but since 3 weeks it seems to turn into a happy end - that means I will have more time for my blues music this year. I just finished our new website: redbeans-cologne.com Have a look there and drop me a line. Hope to hear from you talking about music more often!!! Love You Frank

If today was not a crooked highway If tonight was not a crooked trail If tomorrow wasn't such a long time Then lonesome would mean nothing to you at all Yes and only if my own true love was waitin' And if I could hear her heart a-softly poundin' Yes, only if she was lyin' by me Then I'd lie in my bed once again I can't see my reflection in the waters I can't speak the sounds that show no pain I can't hear the echo of my footsteps Or remember the sound of my own name Yes, and only if my own true love was waitin' And if I could hear her heart a-softly poundin' Yes and only if she was lyin' by me Then I'd lie in my bed once again There's beauty in the silver, singin' river There's beauty in the sunrise in the sky But none of these and nothing else can touch the beauty That I remember in my true love's eyes Yes and only if my own true love was waitin' I could hear her heart a softly poundin' Yes and only if she was lyin' by me Then I'd lie in my bed once again
