I wonder. Are the hall effect sensors arranged in a tiangle to cancle out external fields? Hmmmmmm ... I need to either find schematics or gut a clamp meter myself.

Would tbis be technically better for fixing the uno if it ever breaks As it has all the parts needed labelled on the pcb so you can easily identify the part needed and easily replace it?

You didn't mention Nickel Cadmium. They are used in pro quality cordless power tools, emergency lighting etc. Yes, they are toxic, but recycling centers are available everywhere. They are a good solution for constant use (security flashlights, lanterns etc.) Nickel Cadmium are extremely rugged, which is why they are used in construction tools.
