What caused the intake tube to break? My mechanic said it was caused when changing the air filter you have to take off that rusted bolt or else the hose twists and causes it to break but I’m not sure if that’s accurate
@BoltsNBoostКүн бұрын
Well, your mechanic is wrong. It's a common flaw in these civics. It's just from the movements of a stationary air box and the vibrations from the engine over time.

Nice video. I always reuse the metal gaskets. The blower has been off of mine more times than I care to admit. I suspsect the reason you didn't have difficulty removing the blower is because those metal gaskets were in place. Now, you have those thicker Mahle versions which that little bit of stackup would make the blower flange sit higher and thus make it harder to jimmy that rear blower bolt into position. Thats my guess anyway. But anyway, your workaround with putting the bolt through the flange works fine I think. I like those metal ones too because they seem to handle a little abuse pretty well. Nice video!
@BoltsNBoostАй бұрын
Thanks man! And that totally .makes sense. Never thought about that
