Great video!! I also have the Ioniq 5 and I find that charging to 90% does not take that much more time than charging to 80% with a fast charger. It seems to be that tower from 90 to 100% that really slows things down.

Just hold the door unlock button down a few seconds and the window will open. I have seen a few videos complaining about frozen handles. Window frozen? Open the hatch. Hatch frozen? LOL Good job

This be a helpful video for Ioniq 5/6 newbies! My dealer didn't show me any of these, but I discovered 14 of them all on my own. The only one I didn't know about was the doppler radar. I just never imagined that it wasn't an option under the HD Radio section… since I never use HD radio. I have discovered another useful feature that you haven't covered: you can fold the cargo floor in "half," pull it out slightly, tip it up, and then insert it into angled slots on both sides of the frame that supports it. It really helps when you're trying to access items that you store under that floor!

Great info and well done KZbin presentation. 'Statement & question: I like visiting Yosemite Park, Lake Tahoe & the Mammoth ski area in the winter time and I live above 4000 MSL in the Tehachapi Mountains which experiences about 6" accumulation snow storms, but only for about ten days of the year. How useful would a rear-wheel-drive ID.4 be for me with all season, 3-peak rated tires and Konig snow-chains on the rear wheels only during the worst conditions with steep road grades? My primary concern is controlling the ID.4 during a steep descent on packed snow mixed with black ice. Thank you Electric Principle!

Technically, there is not "Level 3: charging. It is called DC fast charge. Also, why are you at a 350 kwh charger, when you can use a 150 kwh? Everyone should be courteous to use only the power they need!
@electricprincipal5432 ай бұрын
Technically, it is Kw and not kWh when measuring the speed of electricity. KWh measures the amount of storage capacity in a battery. Also, I left the 150 Kw open because it has the only plug a Nissan Leaf can use. I would use the 150Kw if it was the only open station.

The sad thing is that 5 months after your made this video, you can’t to anywhere from Colorado and have access to a Magic Dock-equipped Tesla Supercharger. There are none in New Mexico, 2 in Texas, none in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, 1 in Nebraska, none in the Dakotas, Montana, Utah, etc etc. The Magic Dock program has been an enormous bust for Tesla. I assume the reason they are not building any more Magic Docks is because they are waiting for EV makers to switch to the NACS connector, so there is no reason to build any more Magic Docks. Of course, this switchover will take years and meanwhile, none of us with CCS cars in these blank areas will ever get to use a Supercharger.
@hvu60372 ай бұрын
It's my opinion that magic docks is Tesla's way of testing and validating the charger software and adapter hardware for other OEM cars. It will make them more money in selling SC access and adapters than retrofitting existing SCs with magic docks stalls. And with adapters, any EVs can go to all the existing V3 version SC locations so in the end, it's a win win for all.

@@hvu6037Except that here in the western half of Oklahoma and western half of Kansas and the panhandles of Oklahoma and Texas, there are no V3 Superchargers at all, so we are just totally out of luck and hope that other providers will step in and build some DCFC sites to use

The fact that Tesla charging stations do not have LCD screens that try to provide information is surprisingly smart. I wanted to know everything, and I wanted to see it on the charging station. But then I started seeing BUSTED screens, which made me think that the entire charging station was not functional. So good insights by Tesla.

This is a really good video that explains the ID.4 charging scheduling system well. My one question is if you want to charge at off peak hours and battery is low, say 30%…what do you want the Direct Charge 0-50% to be set at to start the charge at off-peak hours? Do you set it to 0 to insure that charging will start at 30% and go to 80% during off-peak? Thanks for your help.
