@@Peter-f2m oh no, it can take a longer photoperiod and needs it if you want fast growth. At my place that's just natural sunlight, but it can be LEDs. In winter we get 8 hours daylight, in summer 12. Most important is that if the photoperiod is longer and temperature higher there is more shade. Green shade (canopy shade) is the most natural option but anything is ok, as long as the plant is out of direct sunlight. And very high air humidity!

I just received my plant today it is one with big stalk with roots, should i plant the stalk in soil or just leave it on top of the soil with toots in the soil. Thx
@RanchOfPlants5 ай бұрын
@@krisveterinar hi, at this time of the year I'm sending out two smaller plants instead of one big, because it is too hot to send bigger plants - their leaves would just cook at the 30+C, you also received a note explaining this. I remember your parcel well, the plants each have two shoots. Plant them as deep as the highest roots are coming out of the stem and PLEASE place them somewhere COOL! I know the destination of the parcel, it's almost certainly a few degrees hotter than at our place - if you have AC it would be great for them. Also do not forget to mist the plants a lot, the leaves should be misted as soon as the surface dries. Once the heat wave is over you can decrease the misting a bit.

Sure we do. Find me on FB (Petra SA) and send a PM. I can send you the seed list. My favourite.... Hmmm, tough choice. I like them all. Maybe White sugar for the size and sweetness, Zapotec for the aroma and profusion of fruits, Gobstopper for being a sweet green cherry type, Dark Galaxy for the crazy color, ....
@trishsmith28119 ай бұрын
Oh, I just saw that you aren’t in the usa. I’m afraid purchasing seeds from another country and sending them to me is too expensive. I’m super impressed with your tomato selection! I have been trying to find tomatoes that will grow in our strange micro climate. We have long summers but cold longish springs. 40’s at night until June. Summers are mostly 3:52 😂around 70’s F. A sprinkling of 80’s but rarely 90’s. It’s difficult to grow beefsteak type tomatoes here. It’s just not hot enough.
@RanchOfPlants9 ай бұрын
@@trishsmith2811 np. Well, Russian varieties, or Alaskan, may do just fine. They're selected for a fast development. In a longer growing season environment they're just early ripening, but in colder climates they make use of the short season. White sugar (Bialy cukar), Siberian red, Kosmonaut Volkov, Malakhytova shkatulka, Subarctic plenty ... many many more, the range is really huge. I'm working on getting the documentation done for sending tomato seeds anywhere. Hopefully I'll be able to list them on our webshop next year. www.diversiflora.com
