I put notes up in the local discord and we got similar notes. Funny enough I gave it an 8.85/10. I wasn’t as big on 2022 for the same reason (drying oak taking over the palate) but I was higher in 2023 (good bourbon just not great for a GTS). 2020 is still king for me. Nice review fellas!

@ Read the notes for yourself. But no, this is a classic bourbon unlike the Canadian whiskey blend that is Found North Hover Hawk and is much different than classic bourbon, rye, or even light whiskey. Try the pink for yourself. It’s that added lemon and orange note that exaggerates the artificial pink flavor.

Love these blinds. Keep it going fellas! As for CYPB, it started out as a social media thing like 7 years ago where people could go to BT site and fill out a questionnaire for the next product. They asked questions like “what part of the rickhouse, what proof, what secondary grain, what age”. It was kind of geared to the end result being what it was. For example, the grain question said “wheat is sweet and soft and rye is punchy and spicy”. Once the votes were tallied they landed on the CYPB product. I think if they ran that campaign again today with those same questions we would end up with a much more amazing product. Oh well. Cheers

CYPB came from some promotion Weller had online where you “created your perfect bourbon.” You got to choose the recipe, floor, char, and something else IIRC. Then it was supposed to recommend a bottle for you but it always recommended CYPB

You guys keep it real, for sure. I’ve had 2 samples from different bottles (and years) and the first one was a real let down. The nose was so good, oaky and grapey. But it was so damn nutty on the palate it reminded me of a subpar ECBP. The second one was amazing but I’d still rate it at 8.5. I had other pours that same night that topped it. I’ve actually had a presidents choice that was up there. Lacking the oak of KoK, but it was a tobacco and fruit bomb with a touch of black tea.
