Who would pay to see this? She asks the crowd to sing because she can't sing anymore! This is painful to watch. Retire with dignity....It's time.

With inflation raising prices on my basic necessities of groceries, gas, personal items, and mainly rent……paying any amount of money to see current singers perform isn’t a top priority on my list of expenditures. These entertainers don’t pay for any of my expenses……and it’s foolish for me to throw my hard earned money into their ticket prices!!! So it’s a BIG NO when it comes to foolish spending on any concert ticket!!!
@Sammae19 сағат бұрын
@@user-qr5fx9kp9s I think this is a huge factor in the artists from our generation and above. We have major expenses to take care of before spending $500-$1400 for a ticket. It's insane.

I loved it. Some people don’t get it, but they need to rewatch it. The imagery was beautiful, the nods she gave to all the past greats was so nice , the choreography was amazing. I loved the last scene where she was singing and dancing in the rain. It took me back to when I was a kid living in NYC. I loved the song Broken Like Me. The lyrics are so beautiful, it will have you in tears.

I can understand why Janet is hesitant to put out new material. If for some reason a song or album does not reach the top 10 or worse case scenario charts 40 plus media will have a field day. This no longer the 80's or 90's. Janet's music is embedded in our culture. Janet is such a perfectionist and it shows. I am 57 and can dance but her level of movements are so fluid and graceful. For peak sake her dancers her probably half her age and she is still in control. Janet allows fans to miss her for several months if not years. Janet is a fine art and not mass produced. My guess Janet could have been ever more richer by having more concerts and producing more records. But her counterpart---one is particular--with the most Grammy's does not have Janet's star quality. Quality reigns supreme over quantity. And yes the 2nd leg is giving!!!

Ugh, I can’t believe we’re even discussing Janet in this way. But this is the first show where I’m seeing the slow down in a different way. Obviously, she’s 58 so we must be fair. She still impressive but I don’t think her creative team has done the best with her capabilities this go around. I think the first leg, while it didn’t have all the extra things this leg has, fit her much more. If they scaled down and delivered “I get lonely” sophisticated styled choreo throughout and worked the stage, sing her ballads with background singers again and hit her IF and RN classic choreo, it wouldn’t look so “junky” and “low energy” at times. She still has a lot of FIRE in her and i appreciate her still giving this her all. Her drive is incredible! And I truly believe once she gets comfortable with the changes she’s gonna turn it up even more. But it’s not even her. It’s the creative choices. Bring back some female dancers now, a fresh, creative choreographer to collaborate with Dean and let her work!

Nobody can never be satisfied people expect Janet to perform like she did 20-30 years ago doing hard choreography which is ridiculous some as if she's not gonna age and slow down over the years the fact this woman pushing her 60's and still giving us shows and entertaining us cause she wanted to need to always be valued I'm forever grateful anything Janet does I love seeing her outside.

I like your review but I disagree with a toned down Janet, her songs are totally different from the legend Tina Turned RIP. I would a love to her Janet singing and harmonizing with background singers recreating that lush polished sound that’s made with Janet, Jimmy & Terry. You can be just as creative vocally as with physical moves, this would be a first for Janet concert wise. Like a “Janet unplugged”

Good review Sammae. I believe her Together Again Tour 2nd Leg is fresh, colorful and very detailed (I just noticed her signature key 🔑 earring on the cane that Dean is holding in the opening of the show - lots of hidden nuggets in the show)! I don’t think the choreography is lazy but a bit on the feminine side when Janet has built her brand and globally known for her Dominant, sharp and Intricate choreography. We attended her 1st leg of the Together Again tour last year and it was amazing, I took my cousin that has never seen her live and he was blown away 🤩 by her show and high energy performance (he couldn’t believe she was 57 yo). And a group of us are going to see her in Orlando, FL. on July 20th, can’t wait to see this new revamped show. You should definitely take your mom and go see her in Toronto Sammae!! The videos and clips on KZbin do not do this tour justice. It’s night and day, watching Janet live is so worth it and an amazing experience you def. will not forget. I’m so excited to see her next month!! 🎉🎉

You better say that dude! The days of the superstar levels of Janet and Madonna are gone unfortunately. These new girls, as you said, aren’t putting on nearly the type of shows these women are still doing. Janet has ALWAYS been my queen so feels so good to watch a KZbinr that knows the legend, her struggles after that ridiculous Super Bowl backlash and more music than just singles! Also agree on that you gotta J some grace on the Choreo. Yea we all wanna see Janet rip the stage in half. It’s her damn fault for being so epic all these years 😂. But our legends are getting elder and we have to just appreciate what they still giving. Janet still rocking the stage harder than 25 year olds so I’m very satisfied. Only to k j wanted her to do was add more dancers to this leg but, can’t have it all. You’re awesome man. Great review!

Some of the choreo lacks a bit and is too feminine for the male dancers. I like the new wardrobe changes. The stage is way better. It's brighter. The set list is great. I thought her energy was great considering new Choreography and crunch time rehearsals. This might be our last tour from her. I'm take it. She also sounds great with them live vocals.
@thetoughgroup27 күн бұрын
I adore Janet and her dancers but I agree the choreography is entirely too feminine for an all male crew. It tilts heavily towards drag show which isn't attractive.
@Sammae26 күн бұрын
@thetoughgroup I think this is an important factor in Janet and her music. Her style of choreo has always been dominant, fierce, slick, quick, sharp and union based but unisex. Very military in its execution. ... we're not used to seeing it so feminine I guess you can say. My complaints is more so the design of dance around her (the dancers), which would fall on the choreographers hands.
@damnright176626 күн бұрын
@thetoughgroup Agreed. Her dancing has always been for everybody. Even the first leg, it seemed geared towards a particular audience. Janet has a multitude of fans and it alienates some of us who really enjoy her routines and mimic them.

I think there's a stigma with her being 58 because besides the lack of intense floor choreography that she used to do. She more or less has given the same level of dancing since the velvet rope tour. For e.g. For the All For You Tour, she choreo to 7 new all for you songs (including Would You Mind) but didn't perform the intro to If, Rhythm Nation or the choreo to That's the Way Love Goes whereas for the Velvet Rope Tour, she performed choreo to 5 new velvet rope songs but performed the intro to If, Rhythm Nation and the choreo to That's the Way Love Goes. For a modern tour perspective, For the All For You Tour, she didn't perform the choreo for Miss you Much, Got til it's Gone That's the Way Love Goes and When I Think of You etc. but performed the choreo for Alright, Final dance break for Rhythm Nation, additional dance break to Doesn't Really Matter etc. whereas for the Together Again Tour, she performed the choreo for Miss you Much, Got til it's Gone That's the Way Love Goes and When I Think of You etc. but didn't performed the choreo for Alright, Final dance break for Rhythm Nation, additional dance break to Doesn't Really Matter etc.

She's 58 can you cut her some slack on changing the choreography jfc lol. As for the "choreographer" on stage, it's referencing drag culture and an "extravaganza" ball. Dean is playing the MC of the ball. They all get to wear the glamorous coat and the MC passes the coat around, which is a metaphor for everyone being included in the culture before handing the show back over to Janet and leaving the ball.
