Are you still progeessing with your 50 states in your 50s?
@Roaming50Күн бұрын
Thanks for inquiring. I am still aiming to ride all states but I'm not videoing it anymore. Unfortunately the engagement was not there to justify the effort so for now, I am just enjoying thinks at my pace off camera.

I wanted to send a random compliment your way: the dual camera (chest mounted and offset/overview) is really effective for two reasons: switching views is good for viewer engagement; and focusing in on a detailed task (ie chest-mounted) provides the best view for the viewer. Well done from me, and thank you.
@brandonguild16662 ай бұрын
What did you use for that hud? I have a Garmin watch and GoPro, but it took an incredible amount of time to edit it onto the video using a random hud editing software that didn’t really function well. It was difficult to sync the hud with the video clips as well.
@Roaming502 ай бұрын
I actually use Garmin’s Virb Edit to generate the HUD, however Garmin stopped supporting it many years ago. I haven’t produced a video in a couple years so not sure it would even work now.

Thanks I feel less stupid now 😅 Unfortunately that's too late to retry since I'm going 12-speed, so I have an unused 11-speed cassette that I'll get rid of... Just wondering why e*thirteen did this, that's really cumbersome to mount/unmount and I'm never going to buy from this brand again. Cheers from France 👋

No E bikes posted is before MTN E bikes became popular. These days E bikers I see on bike trails are abusing the privilege. Full throttle and not peddling. Imagine that on a Mtn single track trail.
@straps98594 ай бұрын
how do you get the overlay data that you add to you videos? the speed, elevation chart etc? Thanks
@Roaming504 ай бұрын
I use some old, no longer supported, Garmin software to generate the overlays which I then import into Final Cut Pro for editing. Not sure if they would even work now as it has been a couple years since I produced a video.

Lol, you started out riding past bungalows and I was like where are you? Looks familiar. Lived in MKE for 25 years. Excellent place for biking. There is a huge beautiful county park system, with a 76 mile trail that makes a huge circle of Milwaukee county. You can ride on a trail west to Waukesha county that’s on abandoned railroad right of way. The part that goes past Am Fam Field is on an old former electric inter-urban train corridor.

You’ve missed a whole section at the end. Essentially it takes you back up to the top where you started and ends with some fun downhill

Yes I know. This video came about from testing two bikes back to back. There’s also the downhill and jumps at the beginning as well.

Thank you for sharing your video that I watched from Trail Forks and here on KZbin. The first time I mtb the 401 was twenty-eight-years ago, i think it was around Summer '96. Crested Butte was a small town, compared to what people see in Crested Butte now. Anyway, I enjoyed your video because it sparked a sensation in my soul when I rode this trail, riding thru the great fern and aspen forest. This is what I remember the most, the emerald forest section. Had this been me, I would have stopped more to take flora pix...but that is me. Back in the 90s, we didn't have cell phone camera's, or GoPro, but we had film cameras. I can't find my pix of riding in addition the Betty Cline to the top of 401. Speaking of which I like how stable you kept your camera while riding downhill. Also, thank you for showing kindness to uphill riders and being kind. We, mtb'ers in the 90s had many meetings with open space and national forest rangers, including hikers, equestrian, and mtber's to learn how we can share the the trail without pissing each other off for not yielding or showing kindness. Keep the rubber side down and happy sharing.
@Roaming506 ай бұрын
Thank you. As a similar 90s mountain biker, for me the ride is about the journey and getting out and appreciating natures beauty. I’m not your shuttle bro type rider. That type of exploration is often not covered much on YT unfortunately.

Always amusing when people can't even ride the start of the trail, yet proceed thinking they can maybe do the rest. Schooner was a waste of time and effort because nobody truly rides it, not that much talent around there. Lots of people will claim they rode it, but what they really meant was hike a bike. They walked all the tough stuff, which just makes it pointless.

We don’t usually say quarries around this part of Minnesota. They’re pits, and pit lakes.
@goodsirminnow10 ай бұрын
It’s frustrating that this trail is being used as an example of how mine reclamation should work. The reality is that it’s still a mine pit, and those hills are still dumps. Mine reclamation is supposed to actually REPLACE the forests and natural ecosystems that were destroyed when mining began.

Just seeing this vid today. This is one of my home trails. LC is a great trail and has actually changed quite a bit since this video. Smoothing out features, adding better berms, a wall ride, and some other great lines that you missed. Old 96er is a small section off the main trail that is one of the funnest I've ever ridden. Super steep, step up, drops, jumps and great flow. Thanks for the great video!
