I love the "Milstein way" as demonstrated by Zukerman later on in the video

I dont think Zukerman is fit to teach especially Asians... Have you heard about the incident in Julliard about what he said about Asians during a masterclass?

In a Major chord the thirds should be lower, than the thirds are used in a minor chord.

I don't think the Glazunov concerto is even in P. Zuckerman's repertoire - I can see no record of him ever having performed it in public. Maybe he studied it in his Julliard days ? A great class, Jaram Kim

This was from when I was about 17yrs old. I am no longer 17 :) My teacher was actually Grigory Kalinovsky (IU professor now), former student of Zukerman, who is that young man sitting next to him in the video - also no longer a young man :)

Thank you for sharing this masterclass. Zuckerman is a great teacher. You are very fortunate to have studied with him. I love how he always goes back to the fundamentals. He’s an incomparable artist, musician, and pedagogue.

He's a true genius, but that didn't stop the Asians from trying to cancel him. Everything Pinky said, which were interpreted as racist stereotypes, was true. What people don't want to accept is the fact that one can have love for other races yet also identify cultural flaws which hinder their music making abilities. If he was a true racist, he wouldn't be attempting to help them as a teacher. Because of this, the far left Orpheus Chamber Orchestra refuses to work with him...their loss.

It's physics, when playing double stops and you play 1 notes just a very tiny bit more flat, it's gonna resonate better when the 2 notes collides
@TheNeilsolaris5 жыл бұрын
@@atlanticking2315 I understood the opposite. She was playing the F natural high against the D to form a natural interval, which resonates more. However, Zukerman was getting her to play the F flatter, in a more melodic context, which I agree sounds better here. Likewise, he was getting her to play the F# 's and C#'s higher for the same reason (sharps need to be higher in a melodic context). Less resonant but sounds better in context.

The fundamentals of violin playing creates such an impact to one's own technical development on the violin. Zukerman's sound is so rich and supple
