It's a Jewish fairy tale. A bit like Santa Claus and the tooth fairy, some other popular fairy tales. I feel a bit embarrased because i used to think these kind of films were real history.

It seems a lot in the comments are confused. I'd suggest reading the description and paying attention during the first few minutes of the movie where it describes what the situation is. The first few minutes of dialog (around where a press unit is talking to the Finnish troops) should also clear up some of the things people seem to be confused about as they mention the use of the swastika and how the Stug is different to a tank etc. They went out of their way to include these are plot points to help us understand what is going on. A minute or two glacing at wiki for the Winter War and Continuation War would probably clear up most questions. It's nearly two hours long so I think it's worth spending two minutes finding out what it's about.

Things that went on in Sobibor and other camps were much more grusome and demonic than the movie shows. This movie is too soft (no hate on the movie, just reality was a million times worse, like babies and children being thrown in the ovens to burn alive kinda things)
