The whole thing is Johnny wasn't really a bad person: just a well off kid who was allowed to do what he wanted and was brainwashed by Kreese, and finds out the hard way what an evil control freak Kreese is in KK2. I reckon Dutch was the real bad apple of the bunch, a snarling thug who does norhing when Kreese attacks Johnny and in Cobra Kai is revealed to be in and out of prison.

When this movie came out I was 13. Total Daniel fan! I was in Ralph Machio fan club (Johnny from the Outsiders), I was hooked. Now at 51, as I watch Cobra Kia, I'm more of a Johnny Lawrence fan. His style takes be straight back to everything I loved about being a teenager in the 80s. Lol

I like the scene where the cobra kais surround Daniel on his bicycle with thier motorcycles and force him over the hill.

If you look at it, Tommy was the one that set things in motion. At the beach, he saw Ali talking to Daniel and told Johnny, which led to the first fight. Later on he sees Daniel having lunch with his mom, and tells Johnny about it, which leads to Johnny and gang ambushing him when he is riding his bike home. And then in the tournament, while initially being disgusted by Kreese's orders for Bobby to take Daniel out, he totally is the only one in the final spurring Johnny on to destroy him with lines like "Bring out the body bag". While Kreese is the overall reason why Johnny and the boys act the way they do, Bobby could be considered a true villain, as he really does incite two of the main incidents. Dutch was a loose cannon, but he stopped caring once he was eliminated in the tournament.
