These scenes are truly heartwarming; I wish I could go back to my 16 year old self and show them to myself so I could understand these courting rituals and gestures (when I was that age I spent my time going to school and working and doing piano lessons etc but I could have learned this stuff to help me later by watching this: kumiko is truly very kind and caring which truly impacts my understanding of true love

I like a comment I read once where it said "Jhonny was a shy child with family problems who was taught to be aggressive and ruthless and Daniel a hot-headed and impulsive kid who was taught to be calm and self-controlled." Karate Kid is more than just a kid who bullies another kid, shows how much the influence of people and the environment affects our lives. So much for this Sensei Miyagi says "There is no such thing as a bad student, but rather a bad teacher." I keep thinking about how Jhonny felt in the end, he had a bad influence, he did bad things for Kreese someone he considered a father figure and admired only to later realize that everything he did his whole life was wrong and that the person he saw as a father even tried to kill him. Considering all this psychological weight and the lack of help, it is easy to understand why in the end he and Daniel led completely different lives.

Interesting observation. When Miyagi says "5 to 1 problem, no one can handle" in Kreese's dojo, he was referring to Johnny, Dutch, Tommy, Bobby, and "mystery boy". Does anyone know who "mystery boy" is/was?? He doesn't even say one word in the entire movie, he's just there as another goon in Johnny's posse. It's hilarious, that actor didn't even get to say one word in the movie LMAO.

Dutch is the biggest antagonist of the bunch (next to Johnny), he had pure hatred for Daniel. First scene he's holding Ali back, he says "that doesn't mean squat" as Daniel is getting pummeled and can't even stand after the Halloween dance, and then harasses Daniel right before the tournament with the "dead meat" taunt. They should have had Daniel kick his ass way better in the tournament.

None of them got Ali Mills and this was all over Ali Mills and she dumps Daniel for a football player that's really messed up. Daniel got his ass kicked for nothing and Johnny Lawrence just hated Daniel b/c he was the new kid in Calfornia.
