Mark 14:12-15 could indicate a relationship to the Essenes who were a male only community that occupied a small neighborhood in Jerusalem. It was sort of unusual for men to carry water. Also the day they chose to observe the Seder suggests they were observing from a different (older/pre-Babylonian) calendar. That might hint of Essenic tendencies.

Another possible explanation is that Mark new Peter and basically Mark dictated Peter's words. Mark was the first synoptic gospel written. Matthew and Luke might have used Mark's gospel as a template or basis of their gospels. Mark's gospel is the shortest gospel of the synoptic gospels.
