Great video and tips. About the electrical tape. After cover the first par of the wing. We cut on the edge of the electrical tape and remove the tape? On next part of the convering we overlap the previous part? Because I can't see the joints in the video

Thanks for the instruction -- I've covered tips the same way for years but had never heard of the Cover Tugger -- what an excellent helper tool!

I have built and flown many forward swept wing RC Aircraft, but none as nice as your design.

Thx. Plans are available from Model Airplane News magazine

Video quality is terrible. Can only see aircraft for a very quick moment every clip.

Spur of the moment video. Im happy theres ANY footage.

wouldnt mind seeing good footage of the aircraft. Most definitely interested in your work , please dont question that. I wouldnt have even clicked on it if content wasn't worthy. Please make a good video so we can experience the flight. WE WANNA SEE THE PLANE IN ACTION. I even subscribed with notifications so i dont miss it.

I wonder what Schmued and Rice would think about this ? Nice work .

Really unique looking model! Missed the landing so I hope she came down in 1 piece. I've become more interested in the FSW designs these last few months while watching a friend develop a Bugatti 100P model that just had her maiden last week. Really unique challenges with FSW, and your's has a ton of sweep. Nice project!

32 degrees forward sweep, yes. It needed a fair amount of down trim despite being set up with 0-0-0, and 2 deg right. Airfoil is a cambered section, close to a Ritz 3-30-13, but of my own design. Been using it for 20+ years and it has good behavior. More testing is needed, but, she seems like a "keeper", very stable. the retract geometry is really something....remember, it has to go forwards a lot when down due to the placement on the wing(unless the retracts were 3/4 of the way to the tip) and has to retract BACK at 32 degrees.... FSW has benefits, mainly, it becomes difficult to make the tip stall, and the maneuverablity is increased. You need about 3.5 degrees dihedral per panle for every 10 degrees of forward sweep at the airfoil highpoint.

My favorite part of forward swept wings is their aerodynamics. I am fascinated by vorticies. The forward swept wing causes air to move inward towards the root rather that to the tip as it would in a conventional swept wing. This then causes the vortex at the tip to be exceedingly strong. I've been messing around with FSW's made out of paper and a smoke generator. It is quite amazing to see the vortex maintain at extremely high angles of attack. The sharper the tip and the more swept the better.

Well done! Looked great in the air and a killer landing!

Thanks Bill. It really did behave well, and the landing was pretty good for the longish grass. I'm not gonna complain! :)

Added music only because it was nothing but wind noise, and I know music can be annoying, but not as annoying as 5 minutes of wind noise :)

Music in place of horrendous wind noise :)
