Do you mean that you are shopping for a new machine? Or just the replacement blades? I don't believe the original Cricut Cake is made any longer, but Ebay, Poshmark, Mercari and similar sites normally are great resources for those, and the blades. The newer Cricut Maker machines can cut many materials, but I don't know if they are designed to work with food grade like fondant and gum paste.

So I've watched all your tutorials on this machine.. I just bought mine used today,,, I'm wondering do you make your own fondant... I seen you add the powder to make it into a gym paste... but I didn't see how to make fondant or maybe you buy yours.. I've never worked w it so everything is brand new to me..

I make my own Fondant but homemade Fondant doesn't work I have to use bought (Wilton) Fondant and let it sit a bit to air dry so to speak and it will slide through. I noticed you posted a year ago so by now I'm guessing you've figured it out.🙂

Is there any particular reason why you didn't paint the drum border before putting it on the drum? I'm new so I'm just curious. Thanks!
@YummyArts
@YummyArts 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tracy, thanks for your question! My guess is that it was simply an oversight. As Susan demonstrated the project for our YummyArts members, I imagine she was just focused on the cake itself, and then realized that she hadn't done the drum. :)

Hi Cindy! Thanks for your question! Shelly may normally cut them at the same time, but she was demonstrating the project for our members in a live class setting, so her process was a bit different.

Beautiful work 😍 how did you mix the paste you use to decorate, can you help with the measurements
@YummyArts
@YummyArts 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Abasi, and thanks for your question! The flower on top is a store-bought, premade gumpaste flower, but you can make your own if you prefer. And the fondant used for the rosettes and decor can be store bought or homemade with your preferred recipe. There are a number of recipes available for members at YummyArts.com. In terms of measurements, I'm not sure specifically which measurements you're asking about, but please watch the rest of the videos in the course for a better understanding. Shelly, does this cricut exist? I went to their website and under “machines” I don’t see it. I also searched for “circut cake machine” and nothing comes up. Tried calling circut and there’s and hour and a half wait time.

Hi Michele, thanks for your interest! I'm not sure if Cricut still makes the "cake" version or not, but I know that you can still find them new and used online: amzn.to/36vNHHM

Thanks for the tutorial. Tried my best but when I do the buttercream it picks up crumbs from the cake and it ends up looking awful. Also my cake is really flat and falls apart 😂 Any tips?
@YummyArts
@YummyArts 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Leah! Thanks for your interest and the question! What you're referring to is normal, and is the reason for what is called a "crumbcoat." Embrace the crumbs. Cool the cake fully first, or even freeze it for a bit, and then coat the cake with a thin coat of icing, which includes the crumbs. Then chill it again, and coat with another coat of buttercream, or cover with fondant. Check out this video that Susan Carberry made to demonstrate the process: yummyarts.com/sb/CrumbCoat.html

I'm sorry you feel it's taking too long, but we ask our decorators to go slowly to demonstrate each step. This makes it easier for those less experienced to follow along and re-create their own versions of our projects, learning important techniques for future projects of their own. :-)

Hi Virginia! Susan generally recommends a pound cake for carving, but as a client or guests' tastes may vary, she recommends using the densest cake in a flavor they will enjoy! Madeira cakes are also terrific for carving, and you can find a great recipe here: www.prima.co.uk/all-recipes/baking/a22520/sponge-cake-recipe/

I love your videos and tutorials, however a friendly suggestion is maybe putting the clips into just one video instead of uploading each individual clip/segment. I feel they would be easier to find and navigate through just one video. It would also be much easier for your subscribers such as myself. When I log on, and have a ton of your videos my other subscriptions get lost. Again, just a friendly suggestion. I mean no harm in anyway.

Hi Rae, thanks for the input! A main reason we have the videos in multiple short clips is to make it easier to rewatch specific sections for parts you may have missed. It's easier to skip to a certain part than fast forward through several minutes of footage. Many of our videos are also available for purchase on DVD as well!
