As a long haul coast to coast truck driver we float gears not clutch them

It's really a great success to work in such a manual truck. I mean, every part of that right arm of yours is muscle. I couldn't work in such a truck even if I was given two salaries. I've driven automatic Mercedes and Ford.

So I am gonna date myself but the first truck I drove back in the day was a cab over with a 30 onch steering wheel, no power steering, with a browning transmission. The closest stick had 4 positions like a standard shifter. Instead of doing a standard shit it was 1 2 on top, 3 4 across the bottom. The second away from your leg was 4 or 5 depending on the gearing in the truck. The one i drove was 4. It shifted like what you would expect. This shifter however on the new chassis is just the same as high and low on the splitter forward is low range back is top range. I do have a deep appreciation for the way this was customized! Beautiful ride!. Oh yeah the old school didn't have brakes on the front axle either. And the trailer i hauled had spring breakes. You had to hook air to it before backing under it. Otherwise you pushed your trailer around the yard. They used to put wheels on the landing gear because of that. You look good in a W900 in purple!! Do you know who did the custom work on this? The shop name? They should get some credits as well
