Enjoyed seeing the old Bury i grew up in, especially the short but sweet glimpse of The Coach & Horses(building with Duttons sign on corner) just the film panned out onto Princess St after the Bury Market at the start, been teying to find a photo for donkeys years, as i lived in the C&H when my grandparents ran it, thanks for sharing

I found the film of bury market very interesting , as I boy living in bury I remember going with my mum to the old market on Fridays, it was always full of people buying and selling .I also remember the fire thst destroyed the market hall sadly . And the temporary one then the new one being built ,it looked like the future of bury was saved ,and even today it's getting a new make over and will always be the best market in the country

I remember the day the old market was burnt down. Looking at the pictures afterwards, I never even noticed what a lovely building it was

A large part of Bury town centre was destroyed for a generic concrete shopping centre and Elton was literally razed to the ground for a road.

Funny how that works. We only live side by side with you and you claim your culture to be destroyed. Whilst our countries were occupied and ruled over by the English, and our countries still have our culture intact.

My great grandad is the man in the official looking white wig during the Queen's visit to open the town hall. My granny remembered him very fondly, though he died before I was born (sudden heart attack aged 69).
