Overall, a sad story killing one person on the ground at Bellegem near Kortrijk, Belgium. Pilot should have stayed with his plane longer and ejected when it was lower. Russians paid compensation to the family of the boy for their loss and the destruction of the house (but not for moral and emotional trauma as that concept did not exist in the Soviet Union). Not sure but believe the wreckage was returned to Russia after they paid the compensation.

This Mig-23 wasn't shoot down. It ran out of fuel after passing almost half Europe coast line. Pilot ejected airplane after engine sucked bird causing engine stall. After ejection soviet pilot noticed, that engine's regain the power. It wasn't in autopilot mode, just well trimmed. And the name of the Soviet AB it toke off was Brzeg near Kołobrzeg, Poland. (not Kolobrzej)
