Hello, thank you for sharing. I am having trouble getting rid of the background. Every time I export there is a white background in the png, how can i make it transparent?

Hello. I need help, when i try to image trace my character sketch, it makes the outline a lot more thicker than it should be and adjusting it in the image tracing options doesn't really help.

When you share the design for screen printing do you send it as PNG, TIFF or PDF? Also, CMYK or RGB?

I've been enjoying your video newsletters. That quote from your friend Toni really does stick with you. I just completed a series of 30 watercolor paintings in January and now I'm trying to put together a website through Squarespace to try and sell some of them. Working on this website is like learning a foreign language!

Funny story-- found your YT channel thru your recent newsletter 🤯Incredible how this resonated with me at the right time. I like you you guys used "pivoting" instead of starting from zero-- I used to design and make my own stickers to sell online locally. Mid-pandemic, I had to stop to focus on earning better through content creation for small businesses. Now that the situation is moving forward for the better, I'm thinking of restarting my art business. I do feel paralyzed by doubt-- what if I'm not as good as before? What if the landscape has changed? As well as feeling like I've grown out of doing everything "handmade". It's difficult to think about the business side of a creative business, so thank you so much for this! 💖 Glad to know you guys are still open to learning as you go, really inspiring! ✨🙌

Hey Bem! It’s so nice to hear from you. Thank you for being here with us and for sharing a bit about your story. It’s great that you’re thinking of getting back into your art business now - that’s wonderful! You’re definitely not alone in your feelings of doubt. I think every creative experiences these types of fears - us included. But over time, by taking little steps forward each day, I’ve found that the doubt becomes a bit quieter. I hope you’ll go for it anyway! Life is short and your creative ideas matter. Rooting for you! -Anna

Funny story-- found your KZbin channel 5 mins after clicking your recent Newsletter 💖 I know you guys mentioned that it's time consuming (I think so too), but it's such a happy coincidence that I opened that one email today! This reeeeally resonated with me-- I used to run my own sticker shop (even posted studiovlogs) then had to take a break mid-pandemic cause shipping was a challenge. From there, I put my shop on hiatus, then focused on working as a content creator for other small businesses. I love it-- but it still hits different when I had my own shop. "I wanna make a decent living"-- same, same. 🥲

I watched the first video of you guys and was like super excited and then I saw a post that you're going away that made me "ahhh why?!" so obviously this video made me super happy and subscribed! We need a real creative talk. It will be fun and interesting to see how two creative individuals are growing "separately" but sharing a very similar (or even same) mindset. Happy to be here and learn from you - love seeing and feeling your confidence! Thank you for that!

Great scale to plan when to outsource. I am currently doing a deep dive in learning video editing for KZbin. As much as I'd rather be painting (and probably more productive), I am not sure how to hand off the story to video editor with my raw clips when I am still trying to figure out what the story is! But the long term goal is to outsource the work. Perhaps it easier to do when I have samples of what I want to be created/improved on and also when I have more traction on KZbin so I know it is worth the investment.
@cheznunez2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Joanne! That’s awesome that you’re looking into editing for your channel! KZbin is all about consistency so hiring help with your video will likely be worth the investment as long as you have a clear plan and are committed to being consistent. For us, when we decided to revamp our channel, we established a clear vision for what our content would be about (teaching branding education to artists) and gave ourselves a once-weekly goal that we were going to commit to for posting (we put out a new video every Friday). You can think of it just like a tiny tv show. From there, we figured out what style of shooting would work well for our personalities (an off-the-cuff topical conversation format), and then Jesús edited a few videos himself so we could create some branded guidelines. Then we passed those early videos off to our video editor, and now he can use our past videos to inform the new videos. If you don’t want to do any editing yourself, I’d recommend having a clear vision, plan for posting, story framework, and then you can share some inspiration references with your editor! If you like their style, you can trust that they’ll probably have some fun ideas to add and can make your finished video even stronger! Remember, you can always keep things SO simple, and refine as you grow! Hope this helps! -Anna :)

Perfectionism is my kryptonite. If you haven't, I highly recommend reading Art & Fear by Ted Orland and David Bayles. So inspiring, such a great philosphy book for creatives. 100 Pages of amazing words. Talks a lot about perfectionism.
@cheznunez2 жыл бұрын
You're really not alone. It's the artist's Achilles hell. What's so cool is that we don't have to live with the perfectionist's mindset. There is freedom from it! I haven't read that one before-I'll have to check it out. Thanks so much for the suggestion. Jesús

Great video! Love the way you talk to each other and it just so organically flow. Speaking of questions: How to find one’s niche? I work as a beginning Childrens book illustrator and currently try to expand my expertise to pattern making and merchs. I am a big fan of diverse books and raising children who are open minded but I don’t know where I can reach out to my audience and what merch they need?

You guys are so sweet and I wanna thank you deeply for answering this question. It's so easy to get convinced that Instagram rules the world and it's the only way to connect with people these days. Thank you for shining light on the fact that we have other tools we can use. Actually focusing on a website (I love the analogy of building your dream house on owned land!) and connecting with your community via an email list (which I imagine could feel a bit like writing letters to loved ones) makes so much more sense for people who want to build-up a company with slow and deep work. "Putting Instagram in its place" is such healthy advice, perhaps not just for small businesses but everyone else in general as well. Truly wise words. Thank you again for your work and that you share your knowledge and experiences with the rest of us.

Hi there, you can try: step 1: select the entire artwork step 2: go to 'edit' step 3: go to 'edit colours' step 4: go to 'recolour artwork' step 5: double click & change the yellow to the colour you want. Hope this helps! :)
