I hate to say it but if he wasnt tied off to the manlift he wouldnt have fallen in the first place. And before i get hatefull comments saying I don't know what I'm talking about, I was in the patch for almost 7 years and saw plenty of dumb shit like this happen.

This is by far the most comprehensive video for Excavations and Trench Safety awareness on youtube. Hands down, this video paired with the OSHA Oregon incident will change the lives of every single worker in the construction field for the better. Marko Karr, THANK YOU for sharing !

I WORKED WITH 60’ BOOMS, WITH ALL MECHANICAL CRANES, NO HYDRAULICS, NO AIR ASSIST, LASHED TO THE DECK, CASTING CLAM BUCKETS, DOING FIGURE EIGHTS WITH IT. I WOULD. LITERALLY ROCK THE CREW TO SLEEP WITH MY RYTHUM. DIDNT NEED A TUG, WOULD MOVE THE BARGE WITH THE CRANE ON THE JOB SITE. AH THE GOOD OLD DAYS.

Very good video being a crane operator I have had this conversation many times believe it or not but I was once asked to tip a 23000 pound fertilizer tank with only one crane it only had two lift eyes on the top that were in poor shape to say the least I refused to do it without getting upset but I explained what my concerns were and we ended up using 2 cranes and completed the job for the customer. My Uncle worked at a scrap yard loading rail cars with shredded steel using a magnet and these rail cranes were designed for rapid cycle operation so when the operator had the magnet over the rail car and releasing it the boom tip was over the scap pile and when the magnet was being raised with another load the boom tip was over the rail car so if you can picture the boom tip and magnet always in an opposite position it was very fun to watch! But these cranes had very strong angle iron boom designs and the booms were very short about 35 to 45 feet!😀🇨🇦

I suggest there should be a parachute in the Crane, incase of any accident the operator can fly.

Seriously, these guys are either stupid, very green, or just was taught wrong. This is totally not how its done. Also, a double lift cage calls for more bracing and takes out the lean of the rebar cage

Use some iron rope tie to the bar gage and put inside the frame box push for straight up and slide in the frame box 📦 much easier,,,so unsafe,,,if not cut the frame box in half slide into one piece at a time,,,think more,,,and figure out how to make it more efficient and safe,,,much love to those two,,be safe!
