A good useful discussion conducted well by Anoja, I also like to comment on what Dr Senanayake tried to bring up, about distorting the buddhist concepts by clergy and few laymen preaches, a list of names going around whatsapp , like to know who and by what baseline the concepts are judged and who has a control, if distorted it has to be stopped immediately because our younger generation can be misguided. Also the clergy bhikshu bhikshuni upasaka upasika should let the people know, the meaning of rituals, as there is a trend today to over do some rituals like the katina puja which has been commercialized in many temples, dressing the dagaba with buddhist flag which require yards and yards of material. Most of our Srilankan buddhists worship to ask for favours from GODs or Buddha during a crisis or even daily, Lots of Hindu concepts have crept into these practices. Like to discuss what and whose resposibility to put them in right path
