Putting a screwdriver bit(or impact adapter) in a drill can be very advantageous because you can use the torque-limiting clutch (ya know the numbers near the chuck) to prevent over-tightening fasteners

Good video I just wonder after the stone has been sealed if the new cleaner called. Wet and forget it once or twice a year would keep it clean or would it eat the sealer off?
@alaingillot4718Ай бұрын
Bleach is suppose to be a no no on grave stones ???? . If you are going to use bleach , 30 seconds outdoor cleaner does wonder . Just be sure to rinse really good after to remove the chemical . If someone could come up with a neutralizing chemical to rinse off , that would make that kind of chemical safe on lime stone .

Why not just secure the feet of the ladder and walk it up like you normally would if you had a helper to stand on it for you? That's what I've always done
@AMERICASFUNNIESTHANDYMANАй бұрын
That's always an option.
@richardautenzio81173 ай бұрын
Why doesn't he just take the ladder inside, up stairs and feed it out of the window? Then he can come back down the ladder instead of walking all the way through the house again. This guy is not a smart DIY like someone like me who's been at it for years.

Can I Just Mount two blades together without anything between them? On my Saw if I put something between the two blades the D washer will not engage on to the D shape shaft, the chef barely sticks through the thickness of just two blades together and also that would be the exact thickness I would want to cut out of space between the boards on my deck.
@AMERICASFUNNIESTHANDYMAN8 ай бұрын
I think you could try this but I see two potential problems: 1) the blades will likely shift with nothing to keep them from sliding. The thin cushioned tape helps prevent the blades from sliding 2) the carbide teeth are thicker than the rest of the blade, which means that if the blades shift and slide, the carbide teeth will be bumping and grinding one another. This whole set up is sketchy and I don't recommend making it more sketchy. Be careful!
@MCLombardo-wk8wc8 ай бұрын
Yes I think you're right. I was thinking of putting a thin double-sided tape between the two blades to keep them from slipping. I like to know why he knocks out the center of the blade. On my saw if I do that there's nothing that's going to hold it in the center. Thanks for your response.

If you plug the cord into itself after coiling you will protect the prongs from getting stepped on etc.

I have thought the same thing, but never had the occasion to try it. That's a heavier application with deeper cuts, but it would probably work.

Would you not use say a 24 tooth for chip removal? Then again, I suppose that the cut is shallow enough it's not an issue. Still a bit worried about kickbacks if the shim is not flat. Have you had any practical issues doing this long term?
@AMERICASFUNNIESTHANDYMAN9 ай бұрын
Hi there, Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I have been on a break from this channel. This isn't something I would do on a regular basis. This is for a craftsman who wants to take a shortcut to avoid buying a set of dado blades. If I needed to make a lot of these I would use different and more appropriate equipment, like a large table saw with dado blades or a table router. I currently don't have a large shop so I am always coming up with ideas like this to get by until I do. Thanks for the question! Sorry for the slow response. I will be back to making videos soon.

@@AMERICASFUNNIESTHANDYMAN I was just curious to see if this hasn't given you any issues. I mean a worm drive can definitely handle the blades that's for sure.

I have a question im hoping you'll help me with. My grandparents have the flat headstone its brown with "gold" lettering and trim. Well im guessing when they mow the lawn they've been going over the stone. Because now one of them is chipped the clear gloss on it and it looks awful. The marker is over 10 years old it could also be age, but my guess is the mower. Is there any way I can fix this? Of course the people that work in the office were of no help, as the issue was brought to their attention before. 🤞 hope someone can help
@Headstoneman Жыл бұрын
@@AMERICASFUNNIESTHANDYMAN the bleach really isn’t the worst part as bleach more than likely won’t harm the granite too much…. But sealing the stones is the dumbest thing ever… especially with the type of sealer you are using. You have just hindered the stones ability to absorb and shed water as needed. This will end up causing more growth that grows deeper into the stone than the surface growth you are trying to protect from.

Thanks Doc! Stay safe!
