This was beautiful. So much to consider but I’m left with the thought about a recent experience where I was clinging to my suffering and recognize now how this is very much an inherited trait which causes me more suffering and harm. I love this path of waking up. Deep gratitude for this and these teachings.

I think that's a beautiful reflection-that so much of our clinging and suffering is based on inherited traits. A Buddhist description of this might talk about conditions, and the kamma/karma we've inherited from the past, which is a way of talking about trauma and ancestry. Blessings in your inquiry and on your path.

Thank you. I thought the election analogy was interesting. Certainly elections are marked by unsatisfactoriness ☺

True. Not getting what you want is dukkha and getting the very thing you want is also dukkha because you come to realise that it cannot satisfy you at the deepest level.

'he discovered the practice of mindfulness'...and clear comprehension..for the most part pretty good but i would say an interesting part of the equation that maybe you forgot to mention is the story that the buddha remembered his jhāna attainment as a child before his mind was directed to the path factors of the enlightenment..sukhi hotu

section on Refrain. Mindfulness that 'there ia a body' is established in him to the extent necessary for 'bare knowledge' (nana-mattaya) and 'continous mindfulness' ( patissati-mattaya). This actual phrase in pali 'Atthi kayo ti va panassa sati paccupatthita hoti yavadeva nana-mattaya patissati-mattaya. this is how I understood the above , the body exists to the extent necessary for bare or suitable or important knowledge and improvement or amenability. Usage of 'bare knowledge' is when a yogi is beginer. the same statement should be change to 'suitable knowledge' when is yogi mature to experienced yogi who have dveloped insight knowledge. nana ;knowledge mattaya ; a measure; quantity; moderation mattaya; measure, right or suitable quantity; a little; greatness; important patissati; amenability, assent, obedience

Citta (mind or consciousness) He knows a great mind [mahaggatam va cittam should be rendered as 'when a developed mind (mahagattacitta) arises, he knows] . The type of mind experienced in the rupa jhana(s) or arupa jhana(s). He knows a concentrated mind [samahitam va cittam] . This is state of conscious or mind which is near or close to jhana that is proximate concentration(upacara samadhi) or absorption concentration (appana samadhi). For yogi who has no experience of jhana need not be mindful of it

Feeling 3 types of feeling 1. Pleasant feeling make up physical (sukha vedana) & mental (somanassa=joy). This will leads to craving as wanting more arises. 2. Painful feeling also physical (dukkha) & mental (domanassa=grief) This will leads to aversion when present unless you aware of it. 3.Neutral feeling . This leads to ignorance. On spritual feeling Pleasant spritual feeling are rapture(piti) & joy (sukha) , they are part of 5 factors of Jhana. Also present in 2nd & 3rd Jhana. Unpleasant spiritual feeling is pain or discomfort arises during the practice of sitting and will goes away. In Pali :- Sukham vedanam vediyamiti (experience) pajanati (knows or understand) means 'when experiencing a pleasant feeling, he understands.

Reframe section. (Insight) ... Or indeed his mindfulness is established with the thought: 'The body exists, ' to the extent necessary just for knowledge and remembrance, and he lives independent and clings to naught in the world.

three characteristics of "Existence": 1. Everything that undergoes change, is impermanent and unstable. There is the process of arising, reaching a peak, and passing away (Annitya). 2. There is a suffering, or the unsatisfactory nature of life(Dukkha). 3. In all forms of existence there is the absence of anything, enduring, or an Ego.(Anatma)

"Dependent Origination" - the low of cause and effect describes about the cycle of existence whatsoever "Effects" proceed from a "Cause" "Dependant Origination" has explained the "Cause"(in Direct-Order) and their "Cessation"(in Reverse-Order) too "Effects" proceed from a "Cause", they come into being, presently exist, and cease "Effects" are neither "Causeless" nor due to one "Single Cause (not created by a creator) but "Effects" are "Multiple Caused"
